I think crypto does have its place in anonymous transfers and stuff like that but the current form of crypto isnt that. First of all it would need to be something stable and crypto is everything but stable.

When i was 9 my sister gave me a laptop she put ubuntu on and it pretty much worked for me. I have a pretty good sense for computers and maths so that probably helped. And on another note, no i didnt get trauma from unrestricted access to the internet because i never searched for stuff like that. The first time I started seeing(and thus avoiding) gore/shock videos was when my classmates also got devices. I think if you teach your kid well they will learn to avoid these things but be carefull because other parents(especially today) dont teach their kids about safety. Your milage may vary, im not a parent.

From my experience most trans people are pretty clear cut. I get that they change their pronouns a lot when transitioning and coming out of the closet because it must be hard to pick a pronoun when you dont even know who you are. They are usually ok with the singular they. My problem is with tiktok queers and people who just change it for fun basically. I dont care if your pronoun is xe or idk but i do care when you dont accept if i use they(which i even use for cishet people because in my native language we dont have genders and its just generally easier).

Why doesnt anybody make a custom rom thats basically android just with a few changes reverted to make it more unix/linux like? I think it would be cool and probably even usefull.

For my use the best solution i found so far is setting up the os stuff and tools i use a lot with nix and nixos and then using a debian distrobox for things that i just want to work. Nixos is really good for development but only if the thing youre developing already has a nix development environment or youre the one creating it. For most random github projects you wanna work on/compile etc using something traditional is better. I dont care if one of my distroboxes break i know nixos will always work and boot or i can roll back.

Couldnt you use it a source and then ask people who live near it if the data is accurate? That way you wouldnt need to manually add stuff to the map and you could still help osm.
