Technology@lemmy.world•Chinese Courts Rule Companies Cannot Fire Workers Simply to Replace Them With AIEnglish
514·7 days agoGiving facts is bootlicking? There is workers protection in China, there is social security, there is social healthcare and there are laws that protect your privacy. Just because it doesn’t fit your worldview, doesn’t mean I’m a bot, or CCP clown or bootlicker. I thought people on lemmy are better educated.

Technology@lemmy.world•Chinese Courts Rule Companies Cannot Fire Workers Simply to Replace Them With AIEnglish
3338·7 days agoPeople always shit on China, not realizing workers have good protection in general. Besides that unlike the US, China has a strong privacy protection law similar to the European GDPR. You’ll never hear about this, because that goes against what western propaganda would like you to believe.

Edit : exactly what I was expecting. Commenting ongoing negativity about China. Not talk about illegal wars started by the US, bombing children, the US genocide against the native Americans, slavery. No always the same rinse and repeat. I get it China bad. Like North Korea but worse except for all the advances in technology, infrastructure and medicine.

19·10 days agoThe US can do whatever they want in their country but leave the rest of us alone. We’re actually doing much better without you. It would be even better if you stopped interfering ie start an illegal war, in the name of Israel. Than we can all move on without the US.

Technology@lemmy.world•China car giant BYD says it can thrive without USEnglish
1·12 days agoThan why don’t they buy foreign EV’s? There were options but now both Hyundai and Kia have stopped selling EV models last year solely in the US. In my opinion that makes the choice for BYD logical as these US established brands can’t even sell their EV’s.

Technology@lemmy.world•China car giant BYD says it can thrive without USEnglish
103·12 days agoMost Americans would not buy a Chinese car anyway.
I love that Americans pretend to be the most important and competitive market. The combined population of Europe is twice that of the US. South East Asia is 700 million. And the choices in EV’s is triple that off the US.
These are the markets Chinese manufacturers are after. These markets accept Chinese cars based on the price, quality and innovation.

0·18 days agoFew things. One is a home vacuum seal machine. I can keep food for much longer. Just vacuum seal it. Never thought I would ever use it that much. Secondly our Chinese toilet with inbuilt massage shower head to wash my ass. Most people refer to it as a Japanese toilet. The cleanliness feeling after it hits the stream right on target, is just the best. These unfortunate underpaid people can burn down all the toiletpaper warehouses in the world.

12·18 days agoMaybe you live in a 4rd level city, but here in Shanghai, the speed is fenomal. I download a 4k atmos movie in mere seconds. And outside because most of the city is covered by 5GA, it’s crazy fast. Whenever I go back to Europe, I struggle with both the fixed line speed and whatever they claim is 5G.

62·20 days agoChina has a bigger landmass than the US and China’s internet is insanely fast. Just like the 5GA. The US is like dialup compared to China. Especially now only Netgear is allowed in the US compared to the innovate technology from the likes of Huawei.

0·1 month agoAs a white European, who has lived in worked in the USA for a few years, worked with a fully 100% Japanese enterprise and now living in China for the last 7 years, I can wholeheartedly say China. I made myself swear I’ll never work with Japanese again. It’s the most frustrating experience. My project was supposed to take 9 months but ended up taking over 3 years due to indecisiveness from the Japanese. Plus the working hours are insane with the drinking afterwards. China is much better than Japan workwise. Also I don’t know why you left nature out of the China list. Nature is amazing here. For me personally living here is great. The infrastructure with public transport and high speed railway is second to none. Plus the daily convenience because of the super apps like AliPay and Wechat. It’s hard to explain to someone who hasn’t been here. Luckily a lot more people are discovering China thanks to the visa free travel now for most countries - except the US of course. It’s amazing to hear/see these tourists being shocked how good and normal life is in here because they get fed only negative propaganda back home. China is not North Korea.
They want to turn Reddit into a rightwing echo chamber. Lately there are so many comments on lemmy about people getting perma banned, including myself, for breaking rule 1. However in most cases, like myself, only made a comment without any harm or even a reference to violence. I only commented that ICE can forget about their payments and bonuses and that in 3 years time, they’ll be sucking immigrant cock behind a Wendy’s. That got me a perma ban after 15 years on Reddit. All these tech bros are bending the knee and getting taken from behind. Such short term thinking will become their downfall. If this happens, it’ll be a good thing for Lemmy.

Technology@lemmy.world•The FCC Just Banned the Sale of New Wi-Router Models Made Outside USEnglish
25·2 months agoSame goes for EV’s, mobile phones etc. The US is one of the most limited countries in the world with regards to choice.
Entire Reddit because it’s run by right-wing cry bitches. I almost wanted to say Fuck u/Spez.
Because I got perma banned from Reddit after making a comment that all these ICE losers will never get paid or will get their sign on bonus. And that after 3 years they will be back sucking immigrant cock behind the Wendy’s. Apparently that is violation of rule 1 inciting violence. Which is total BS. Other people post much, much worse and actually death threats. Reddit definitely also bend the knee to the US authoritarian regime and any view other than nazisme is banned.
Anyway lemmy feels a much more positive place here except the formula 1 lemmy. That sub is so incredibly toxic.

This is the kind of old school rhetoric that is a crock of shit.
The time that China is exploiting or stealing US IP are long gone. Just look at battery technology, EV’s, communication technology, pharmaceutical. China is now leading the world. Haven’t you read that the CEO’s from Ford and Honda stated it’s close to impossible to catch up with the innovation in regards to EV’s?
In regards to chips and GPUs, China is using open source technologies to advance. Are they there yet? No and that is in great part due to that clown Rutte who is in the pocket of Trump, and blocked ASML to sell in China. So they are 5 to 10 years behind hardware wise, but they will catch up.
