It’s just a UI burden on the user which doesn’t exist on apps where likes are visible like mastodon and old twitter. Like yeah okay maybe the nuances of communication don’t matter to you. Programmer…
To understand what you mean, could you rephrase or explain your ideas? I read your post and couldn’t understand what you meant.
Well I would but my new years resolution is to stop explaining things to people or machines. If you wait to start a resolution until that last drunken moment, you probably won’t even follow it
That’s alright. I understand that explaining takes time and energy. That time and energy is something I often choose to spend, but I also sometimes choose not to. I would ask you why you want to stop explaining things, but that would, ironically, require you to explain things. I’m not saying this ironically or sarcastically: I hope you can be understood easily!
I appreciate that you perceived I was only 40% joking and actually going to vanish into the ether having slaked my thirst for pedantry and woe because I am. 😶🌫️
I just find it kinda creepy that people dig into others votng and comment history. So weird
That’s because you have impure thoughts and intentions.
There are tools to view the voting data if you so desire. Lemvotes allows everyone to see voting data, and moderators and admins are able to see the data from within Lemmy.
Additionally, downvoting can be completely disabled at the instance level by admins. If you find them to be a distraction or an annoyance you might want to try one that has them disabled.
Nah I want the inline thing where you can see stacked profile pictures. It’s 2025. It being a tool makes it part of the thought process of snooping on people. Telegram gets this, everyone rags on them for either being Putler or being CIA, but nobody will steal their OP ass abilities
Nah I want the inline thing where you can see stacked profile pictures.
Cool.
Have you approached the devs about it through GitHub or anything? If there is support from others maybe it’s something they’d consider adding. If not you should start there since you’re basically left doing it yourself or living with it otherwise.
Since the software is open source people are free to develop and change it how they see fit. If it doesn’t work how you want it to, change it.
Yep you want it, you make it.
In PieFed you can react to a post/comment with an emoji, which is shown with your name.
I’m sorry I don’t remember asking about Piefed. That seems offtopic. @mods?
I mean shouldn’t the bizarre misinterpretations of social science that justified hiding them in the first place be overturned by Elon hiding them so no one can see his uh, tastes? Penny dropped
