No. So far, no real conflict came up while I have been active. A few times it was close, when someone couldn’t really stop themselves from saying something e.g. politically controversial, but so far the ham code / gentleman’s agreement has held. It doesn’t mean that you are forbidden from ever mentioning anything political, just that you try to not start an argument in a space where it is not useful.
I am probably close to the left end of the poltical spectrum in our club, given that most of the members are retired white dudes with a former career in tech. But I personally believe it is better to mutually agree to not bring up certain points and just talk “shop”, than to sit at home becoming increasingly angry at Facebook slop. Who knows, maybe that is what keeps someone’s grandpa from sliding down the rabbit hole and ending up at lizardmen and chemtrails.
