Raven, previously called GeoSpy, lets cops figure out what specific Airbnb or Zillow property a photo was taken in.
An AI company now lets cops take a photo and nearly instantly figure out what specific home it was taken in, using only clues in the photo itself, and is clearly pulling data from sites like Zillow and Airbnb.
This used to be a human job https://www.traffickcam.com/
Tech bros and cops can’t put a stop to their constant spy kink. This only seems to affect properties with public listings to source photos from, but if you have any sort of cloud-connected cameras in your home, get rid of them now. I guarantee they will use those cameras the same way to compare against archived realtor listings.

It really shouldn’t take anything like this for someone to get rid of their cameras. Did everyone forget Eufy’s camera feeds being publicly available?
Security systems (and baby/pet monitors) should be local network only. If it needs an internet connection, don’t bother with it. If you need access to the feed from outside your home network, then just run something like Tailscale.
A CCTV setup with Tailscale is what I eventually want. Right now I don’t have anything.

Has your house been on the market in the past 20-25 years? If so, Zillow and others still publicly show the interior photos from that marketing campaign.
The cops would still need a reference photo to compare to though and they aren’t getting into my house for that shit. Getting in is easier when it’s a rental property because a landlord holds the keys.
Nobody inside your home ever takes photos and posts them to social media? That’s the thing: they can build databases associating people with places they have been seen, people they have been seen with.
You could visit a friend, get snapped and posted, then your friend could have somebody you don’t know over another time, and now you’re linked to that person and may come up in fishing expeditions around a crime they may be accused of…
Nevermind the faults in the system that place you inside wretched hives of scum and villiany you have never even had the pleasure of visiting yourself, but still you get to defend yourself against accusations stemming from the faulty placement.

Neither my wife nor I post photos to social media, and we almost never have people over. If we do, it’s usually folks that are equally disconnected from social media as much as we are (we have a tiny friend circle). But I’m also aware that we’re among the minority here. I deleted all of my social accounts years ago, so the tracking network for me has reduced quite a bit, but it will never be 0 in this day and age.

That’s not what it’s for.
The purpose of this is to take your social media post of you standing with a gun and a sign that says ‘all cops must die’, and then using the background of that photo to identify and locate your house.
Wasn’t there an article about the wifi being used as an echolocation device, providing realtime mapping and positioning? Or did I wander in too deep into the tinfoil area?
There are no words. AI couldn’t turn a profit as an assistant, so now every hotel and Airbnb has been indexed and the only use for this is surveillance capitalism branded as safety.
A classic situation… LEO had lots of this information originally (as well as people contributing to it - taking pictures of hotels/Airbnbs/etc), for being able to help pinpointing child abusers… but as usual, they can’t stop moving the goalposts.
And, as usual, instead of actually going after child abusers, they’ll use it to stalk their ex.
And this is how I become tin-foil hat man, randomly rearranging things in my home, lest the spy satellites find my location… sad times
