Been thinking of installing a heat pump hot water service to disconnect gas from my house.

Has anyone found a unit that has local control - not cloud based, and integrates with HA either natively or through a HACS plugin?

All I can seem to find is cloud based options with sketchy apps.

    I don’t have the water heater indoor unit, so that’s part of my air indoor unit esphome config:

    I’m not familiar with esphome, could you please explain this a bit more? are indoor units hardware devices? how are you controlling the water heater with the config of the AC?
