Omfg, Affinity is the only reason I dual boot in the first place - can’t WAIT for the Linux release!!!
What is that
Affinity is owned by Canva, who bought its British developer, Serif, in 2024. They went on to released a revamped v3 of the suite in October 2025, merging three paid apps into a single free app with a unified UI.
Some kind of graphic art program.
Its an art and design suite. Before Canva bought it and made it free (AI “features” are paid) the company that created it, Serif, deliberately competed with Adobe’s subscription bullshit by offering affordable one-time license fees. It is by far the best Adobe suite replacement IMO
Yeah nice I could run Half-Life on my MacOS… Why would any sane person, wake up in the morning and say: "Hey I’m going to dev a proton alternative but for MAC? Why, what?..
Just let that horrible ecosystem die and suffocate in their own horrible closed source shit. If they want to play half-life (or any game) on their MacOS they should pay 99,89 $ a month ! Or run their ressource hogging VM (which you also need to pay for) and install windows 🤯🤯
I guess masochist live in different forms with different kinks…
It lets you develop apps for macOS without having to buy an Apple product. Some people are also really used to using macOS-exclusive software like Final Cut Pro.
And in the case of gaming, someone successfully ran League of Legends with their own darling fork.
