My first time setting something up without a DE. I have a lot to learn and a long way until I have an actually usable desktop (or system), but I’m excited and very satisfied so far. Any good ressources for beginners are appreciated.
It’s always so cool to see people starting with WM’s and no DE! It’s all I’m able to use nowadays. For this setup, all I’d really recommend right now is installing a nerdfont of your choice so you get the icons appearing correctly on your waybar, and if you want a more customizable terminal emulator I use alacritty with alacritty-themes. Kitty could be quite customizable though too, I haven’t delved into it much :)

Thanks, I’ll look into it!

I’m happy with kitty so far, actually I just have it because it’s the default terminal with keybinds in Hyprland
Can i get a link to that wallpaper?
@CyberEgg man all those custom desktops really want me to rice my own soon! (Even though I’m not professional at using Arch or a WM)
Nice IP address
Thank, but it’s just a DHCP address.
Np hope you don’t mind if I calculate your broadcast ip
What a difficult task in a /24 subnet.
I need a good laugh, so please tell me what you think that information could help you do.
Btw spiderman is lame af
It could help me understand subnetting better and allow me to understand that you can’t find your ISP assigned public IP address based on your DHCP broadcast IP. Get rekt idiot
I mean, you could have just said that you want to learn. Instead, you act like any given script kid since the dawn of the internet that says ‘ha ha, I got your IP now I’m gonna hack you’
Bruh just use ubuntu xp
Nah. I want to build something up from the ground.
Fair enough, hope it goes well :)
Oh, I’m expecting stuff to go wrong. Otherwise I wouldn’t learn as much.
True, I’m dumb as shit with linux so sticking with a very friendly distro is a safe bet for me
The perfect system is what you feel the most comfortable with.
Tried Fedora 38 with KDE, was a total mess
