I have noticed this too when using a VPN, some of Mullvads servers are blocked.
I know everyone here hates reddit but come on we all go to reddit when we need to find some information because its almost always guaranteed to be there whereas on Lemmy unless it is something tech related or foss related, its pretty much a shot in the dark.

Most of us dumped Reddit when third party apps went away. I personally haven’t been back to Reddit since creating a Lemmy account. Screw that place; they don’t deserve my patronage anymore. Or anyone’s, for that matter. Continuing to use their content is justifying their shitty business practices. It’ll never get better if people keep enabling it.
Also, what specific info are you searching for that Reddit can provide? Their search function has always been garbage. Or are you referring to general content and/or subs that don’t have an active userbase here yet?
you dont search inside of reddit. you search for the problem in your search engine and then put reddit after it.
such problems include specific university questions such as a question about Harvard or UC Berkeley or MIT, you won’t find any of that on lemmy. questions related to specific cars from a make n model, you won’t find any of that on lemmy, questions about professional career fields such as engineering, law, nursing and dentistry, you won’t find any of that on lemmy, questions about specific cities and smaller towns or counties that you again, will just not find on lemmy. the only things you can reliably find on lemmy are foss and tech related stuff, some politics although very very left leaning which i personally dont have a problem with, and thats generally about it.
dont get me wrong i love lemmy and deleted my reddit account long time ago but the fact of the matter is that reddit is still one of the largest pools of niche and specific information that you just can not find anywhere else because it is the modern day forums website for practically anything and everything, whether you like it or not.
just go on any search engine and ask a specific question and put reddit after it. Chances are you will see at least 5-6 results. Now do the same and put lemmy next to it. Youll see practically nothing

Buildapac is probably still one of the best places to get advice on pc parts.
Yes, but Google’s is very good. And it frequently returns links to Reddit.
Google indexes Reddit, it does not index the fediverse
That sounds incorrect. What’s your source?

Previous experience that may no longer be relevant if it is actually doing so now
