It’s already a popular enough opinion that gamepass is too good a deal for the price they’re charging yet some of the loudest people on public forums will warn, and I bet act, like the world is coming to an end cause they’re pulling out of the “try to get as many users as possible to try and get comfortable on the service” phase. If it becomes too expensive for your tastes, just cancel. Otherwise it’s just a good deal you can enjoy until it happens.
It’s not even enshittification. It’s not like the service got “worse.”
Imo it makes sense. A lot of titles on gamepass are either multi-player, and thus have near infinite possible play time, or just have a lot of content for 100+ hours on a single game like gta, which mean that unlike movies where people will just burn through their list of titles and unsubscribe, gamepass has a lot that can keep a given individual thinking “yeah, this is still worth it”. Plus, the day one launch titles are a pretty good way to keep people using gamepass instead of buying new games outright.

I’m surprised they still have free games on it at all. They’re basically doing movie pass for games. But making it work.
