I use Matrix but if there’s something I want full assurance of privacy, I use Briar.
When he left, he passed off power to a single person. When that successor left, he passed it on to yet another single person. That as always the problem. The reform never happened until this recent crisis. Now there is a lot of redundancy and assurances that nothing is left to a single person. Thankfully.
All the power was in the hands of one person who came down with serous problems. The organization has since been reformed so that can never happen again. It is now in a good place.
Solus just came out with a new image and they are 100% rolling, 100% community driven. I’ve happily used Solus for many years.
It is the same reason I don’t have an email at my own domain. It is difficult to setup my own and people who run small operations can only give hobby level commitments.
Social media happened because not everyone wanted to build a website. They just wanted an easy place to post and view content.
These tendencies will always bias towards a few other entities handling most of the traffic. Email, social media, and other online experiences like chat.
But you develop a terrible and incurable fear of heights.
What’s the reason why it doesn’t?
At this point, every company not using 2FA is at fault for data hacks. Most people using the internet have logins to 100’s of sites. Knowing where to do to change all your passwords is nearly impossible for a seasoned internet user.
