It’s totally avoidable if you don’t use it, but I think the onus is mostly on the companies for advertising these chat bots as like, a friendly personal assistant when that’s absolutely not what they are. Like all “AI” shit, it runs mostly on consumer deception.

UK, this is hitting basically all websites. Any site hosting adult content has to verify user ages for anyone in the UK, and instead of doing that many smaller sites are just geoblocking the UK. Easy to get around with a VPN, still absurd it’s happening.

Synthetic fibers are a fucking nightmare too, just actively sanding it and creating all those microplastics right there, without even washing it away, possibly BREATHING it!! gives me the heebie jeebies after learning about how much plastic is in our brains.

I don’t even want to think about all the microplastics created when people sand their builds they’re going to throw in the trash or ignore after a week. Small comfort that most people are too lazy to even do that. People are more careful around wood dust than microplastics, it’s nuts. And like, wood dust isn’t harmless either! Don’t breathe any of it, but definitely don’t breathe the plastics!

Same on the wanting more of it faster front! One look at the detail on each panel shows why it takes so long, but it’s absolutely something I could sit and devour in one sitting.

I think part of it is that they want to gaslight people into believing they have actually achieved AI (as in, intelligence that is equivalent to and operates like that of a human’s) and that these are signs of emergent intelligence, not their product flopping harder than a sack of mayonnaise on asphalt.
