well as of the ethics doing a bad thing once is still having done a bad thing, but I guess sure if you want to decrease animal suffering the fastest realistic way, getting 10 people to reduce their consumption trumps 3 people completely cutting their meat consumption. (yet you’ll still have 10 people exploiting animals for their “products” who should be living without doing just that. vegan btw)

for me it’s an ethical thing aswell. I bought a Pixel and am currently using GrapheneOS, but had I known about Fairphones earlier I would probably have gotten the FP4 back then. Sure they might not be as powerful as other phones, but if we don’t support them while they’re small, they will never get there at all. I gladly take the performance cut (to a certain extend), if that means buying an ethically (fair) sourced phone and supporting them becomming better in the future. I know this is not the case for everyone.

I’ve heard of Startpage (which appears to be a frontend for Google results), but I personally like Brave Search more (visually, also you have !bangs for quickly searching wikipedia, ddg or startpage when you need it). I heard ecosia should be private, buy I’ve been ciritical and didn’t look into it yet, because its main focus appears to be planting trees.
