I don’t think the article was trying to imply that they weren’t already in use in electric cars, just that they would be better for them.
I’m going to be moving into a van in the next few years full-time, travelling around Australia and using gyms for showers and, well, exercise. I don’t know if it’s already an issue over here or not, but I sure hope it won’t be by the time I can move out in the van full-time, cause this is one of the best ways of accessing showers without building one into the van.
Hm. The link is actually a video on odysee.com. I’m experiencing no issues on my end, and it’s even letting me watch the video in a miniplayer within Lemmy itself. I’m using LibreWolf, a privacy fork of Firefox, so I don’t know if this is an issue on Chrome-based browsers or not.
No worries. Thanks so much for uploading it. Glad I reached so many people before the time.
Hey. Gotten around to it yet? Just checking in with a few of the “I’ll do it later posts”.
Note that if you got the console second hand (even if it was factory reset), apparently, the SpotPass data stays on the console in the background, so it may be of more help than you think.
Edit on May 13, 2024 (Originally commented April 5): Sorry, but this information was incorrect and no data remains after a factory reset. Mainly making this edit for future readers.
Huh. Thanks for letting me know that. I’ve had quite a few people ask me this question and I’ve linked them the same image again but didn’t know people were having trouble loading it. Well, the image is a Discord message in the server which reads:
"-obligatory not a dev team member- It is dumpable after the 8th, however, the data this project uses is not the dumped data of the spotpass, but rather the url that leads to the source of the SpotPass (i.e. nintendo or 3rd party servers that distributed spotpass data). You can dump the data still, however, the servers will be gone after April 8th, and as such, submitting the dump would indeed be useless after April 8th.
The data submitted carries a very slim chance, (~10) of actually including sensitive information, however this is due to a system level flaw of the system itself. (Nintendo messed up while coding) It includes a bit of data which is whatever the nand was processing at the time of the dump. Most of the time this is garbage data, and nothing private. The dev team automatically anonymises all the data however, and it is not recommended to ever share your dump data outside of the dev team. (Without previous discussion at least.)
To summarise, the date is when the servers shut down, the url of which is what we are extracting from the spotpass dumps, the team is then accessing those servers to get all the spotpass data they can from there. There is a sub 10% chance of the dump containing any personal info, and as such the dev ream anonymises any and all dumps that are submitted.
Hope that helps, I’ll link a message with a more in depth explanation if necessary."
Also, let me know if the link works now. I accidentally shared a private link, so it should work now. Let me know, thanks.
It actually works like this in the FreeTube app on PC or NewPipe on Android. It feels so much better having my own home page showing only videos who I’m subscribed to. Plus another added benefit is that you can put your subscriptions into categories, which is a great way of filtering down to the exact type of video’s you feel like watching at the time. FreeTube personally stopped my unhealthy video-watching habits almost instantly, which were basically psychologically trained into me by YouTube’s algorithm.
That’s how I work, But I use FreeTube instead, which works the same way. There’s a trending videos page, but it doesn’t reccomend stuff based on your history.
How is the meme acknowledging that GOG installers are shared in groups? This doesn’t say anything about sharing anything in a group, other than “My game has no DRM, and yours does”
You mustn’t have looked at many games then. As someone who 95% only buys games from GOG, and has a wishlist of 190+ games, the vast majority of the games on the wishlist have DRM in their Steam versions.

Woo hoo! Yeah!
The people saying to switch to Linux are half-joking, half-serious. Sometimes we can be a little too pushy by bringing up “just switch to Linux” too often, but usually we have good intentions for at least trying to encourage the switch, and it often-times does come from a place of care.
Truly Truly, I say unto you, install Linux; it’s what you really must do.
I’m not sure how to mess around with different fonts or how to apply different ones
Can you see the digits you input or are they replaced with asterisks or something so it’s not obvious if the software accepted the input.
Yeah, I can see them; they aren’t asterisks.
I’d just try to input the code and let the installer switch me to the next input field automatically. That’s how it usually works.
That’s the first thing I tried; it’s the usual way. But I solved the textbox issue by installing Microsoft Core Fonts with winetricks corefonts
No I didn’t try that thanks. I’ll give it a shot. I solved the text box issue by installing Microsoft Core Fonts with winetricks corefonts
can you work around this by copy/pasting maybe all 25 characters at once or maybe each segment at a time?
I tried that already and it didn’t work.
Thanks for helping; I still have at least one roadblock stopping me from installing but I managed to solve the text-box issue by installing Microsoft Core Fonts with the command winetricks corefonts
Thankyou, that fixed it! Didn’t realise I had done that. On the web client, there’s a little note above the languages list that says “Warning: If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content.” This confused me because I thought it was saying that “undetermined” needed to be selected in order to see most content. So after clicking another language, I re-selected “Undetermined” to make sure the language would remain as it was. So I think the wording of the little note mislead me and caused me to do the wrong thing. I clicked “Save” after that, not knowing that I’d disabled English posts.
I still don’t fully understand that little note, because if I select English, then “Undetermined” is automatically deselected; but I still see most content (including what’s on my profile). But if I specifically select “Undetermined” and save the changes, than the posts become invisible, even though that’s what the note seemed to be trying to make sure I did.
The note seems to be saying “Keep Undetermined selected” in order to keep seeing most content, while in reality, selecting “Undetermined” makes most content disappear. Do you see what I’m trying to say?
Edit: Re-worded some of the second paragraph and split it into two, because I had an incomplete sentence that didn’t make sense. Oops; ironic.
