Someone that is wildly happy with their life is not thinking how life is so terrible and evil.
This isn’t a zero sum game.
You can be happy and recognize that life is also terrible and evil.

The US has limited hard braking? What city do they live in?
My issue is that if you don’t know what the article is about and it’s not a word/concept you know, there’s absolutely no chance of ‘winning’.
I think this is more attributed to how the people around you spoke rather than strictly reading.
My college roommate and I both grew up reading. My family also read books and one parent was college educated. Her family only read the local paper (6th grade reading level). She was the only reader in her family.
So we both grew up reading, but I could pronounce words she couldn’t simply because the people around me also knew and used them.
Folks or Everyone tend to be my go to.
Well, I hate pineapple and putting it into things just kind of ruins the thing you’re adding it to anyway, so there’s that.
Okay, I’m trying to understand your argument here. Are you saying that pitbulls are being racially profiled and that information from other dogs aren’t being collected or that bites of the same severity by other dogs aren’t being correctly gathered or are bring suppressed? And, if so, what are the factors that should be taken into account when discussing dog bites or dog aggression?
So… rezone for residential, tear down, rebuild for residential…
omg… but…but… I… I remember the logo… changing… oh god.
Berenstein is classic though.
I read your comment and was trying to figure out why people were listening to an 8 year old Korean song, but realized you’re probably talking about something else.
I know 1 or 2 people buying cat litter every month and having it delivered, but why? Just go to the store!
Subscribing to deliveries typically gives a discount, which makes the cost cheaper than going to the store and removes wear & tear on your vehicles and your own gas costs.
Depending on what kind of litter you want, the store might not even carry it. My cat litter is from a major brand, but is one that doesn’t get as much in stock at my local places and when itis in stock, it’s rarely the cheaper, larger box, so that also increases the cost.
Cat litter is fucking heavy. I don’t blame anyone wanting it delivered to their door.
How have they been verifying mailed in tax forms with no pictures for decades?
Seems like it unnecessarily disenfranchises the poor and the elderly. You have to have access to equipment that can record you and the tech savvy to be able to use it.
I don’t know any American adult who doesn’t have a government issued ID. You basically can’t do anything without one.
I was in a Buffalo Wild Wings recently that only had the menu available via QR code. You still ordered like normal, but in order to see the options, you had to scan the code.
Ugh, that’s like D&D games where they’re like, your character has no idea about what a vampire is because folklore doesn’t exist in this universe so no one has ever shared a story ever… even though the party has a bard who sings about things people have heard
According to a 90s article I linked deeper in this thread, the medical arm split off from the company in 1999.
I’m not even finding HP listed among MRI manufacturers.
According this NYT article from 1999, the medical arm of HP was announced to split off from the printer company 23 years ago.
It Takes Two.
There’s a point where your characters brutally murder the only nice thing thing in the entire story while it’s begging for its life (your characters are pieces of shit, but the gameplay is good, so you can kind of ignore it). It happens to be the characters’ daughter’s favorite stuffed elephant.
Then your characters dance gleefully in their daughter’s tears and show no remorse at their daughter crying or any emotion other than woe is us, our brutal murder didn’t work.
Seriously, one of the most horrific things my husband and I have ever played through in a game. It made us feel sick. We stopped playing after that. The best thing I can do for that little girl is for her shitty ass parents to never waje up so she becomes an orphan. That’s honestly a better outcome for her than having to live with her shitty abusive parents another day. I only wish it had been earlier in the game so we could have gotten refunds.
I can’t believe they market that game to play with your kids and put that scene in it.
Because that community decided to leave and start a place here when things blew up. Other communities didn’t. They’re active, so people hang out there. There’s a fairly low barrier to entry for new folks to participate (a lot of people have watched some Star Trek).
Really, having an active community say, we’re leaving and setting up shop here goes a long way. I wish my niche subreddit had done so as well.
Not really. It depends on what it is. There are entire games and items that aren’t available in the US, but make a killing in Asia.
Like, here’s Genshin Impact numbers from 2023.
On that game, the US comes in at 7th, is less than half of the top country (Japan) and is notably behind Switzerland.
For Tik Tok specifically, we can look at their annual reports.
Let’s look at average annual users per region. 682M in Asia Pacific, which does not include China. 192M in North America.
China’s numbers are 750M daily.
I don’t think most of their money comes from the US.
