It’s hard times right now, you do what you gotta do to keep on keeping on. Lemmy.world is a completely fine choice. They’re a large, mainstream place to get comfortable in. But, if you get bored one day and want to check out what else is out there, you’ve got something to get you started.

The summary for the post kinda misses the mark on what the majority of the article is pushing.

Yes, the first part describes employees struggling with AI, but the majority of the article makes the case for hiring more freelancers and updating “outdated work models and systems…to unlock the full expected productivity value of AI.”

It essentially says that AI isn’t the problem, since freelancers can use it perfectly. So full time employees need to be “rethinking how to best do their work and accomplish their goals in light of AI advancements.”

Oh now they pull em. Jerks.

Kinda like how they threw that lady in jail in India based on brain scans. It wasn’t remotely done, but that didn’t matter.

Also, Davos 2016 had a discussion on all the “social justice” applications they could use brain scan technology on. Nevermind stuff like roughly reconstructing the movie you just watched. And, by now, they’ve had plenty of time to come up with more fun ways to apply this technology.

I know, now that you mention it, I vaguely remember something about how they didn’t think it should be kept only by some corps or something. Which is commendable but at the same time, ugh.

I have no problem with everyone being able to use it ,but there should have been an introductory period, if nothing else. Jeeze.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I feel like anything produced by AI should be somehow watermarked at the source. At this point there’s only a handful of companies. It wouldn’t be too hard to have them all insert something into the final product that is easily identifiable. Something like a microscopic signature in a corner, with model info and date produced…idk. Not anything that ruins the image, but something that can be seen by anyone, if looked for.

If nothing else there should be a large push to inform the public of telltale features to look for (i.e. too many appendages) to help them determine if it’s created by AI or not. While not fool proof, if it can discount even a portion of the misinformation, imo, it’s worth an effort.

To me, it seems irresponsible of the companies running the AI to just unleash it upon the world without training us humans to understand what we’re looking at. Letting us see how realistic everything is while letting us know its been produced by AI, at least helps us to comprehend the scope of the matter and adapt to the situation at hand. Esp for those who don’t fully grasp what AI can and cannot do.

Also, that’s not cool. I could write sensitive information in there before deciding it would be best not to do that. Yet, they can still see it. It would be nice to have a way to put a stop to that. If for nothing else, but for ignorant people like me.
