Hmmm, an RPi with a camera might well work. The problem there is more the amount of work I’d need to do - I haven’t got that kind of time right now.
WiFi would be easily sufficient. We’re talking a distance of 10m from my router, tops.
I borrowed a camera - it’s not the one I would be using for this.
That’s why I’m asking. I haven’t bought anything yet and don’t want to get the wrong thing.

It’s absolutely not unplayable now. It’s not the slickest but it’s no worse than plenty of other modern indies.

I have to use Windows at work so I’ve replaced the system sounds with some that are substantially less jarring. I’ve no idea why the defaults are so abrupt and uncomfortable.
On my phone I have toast popping up for my emails, a Garand ping for texts, and various silly things for messages from specific friends (often snippets of voice clips they’ve sent over the years).

“to make sure they’re working”
A boss’ job is not to babysit. Keep the higher ups off the team’s backs, run the management infrastructure needed for stuff like project planning, stuff like that. I am not at my desk for my whole work day. However not once has anyone been less than very pleased with my output. More time at my desk would not mean more work - it would mean less. The recharge time I take means that I almost universally have a good attitude at work and I’m good at untangling problems that others either can’t deal with or are avoiding dealing with.
Forcing presenteeism rather than a results-based approach is utterly idiotic.

I loved all three of those. I even liked the Dead Like Me movie and read the Jericho comics.

Is this like if one stacks lasagnas?

I’d say he’s the opposite of teflon - he’s so fundamentally dirty that it’s impossible to make him worse than he already is. If who he is doesn’t move the needle then nothing else will make the difference.

Rust still exists? My calendar must be wrong.

Excellent. Sometimes I’d use the option for my work machine on a Friday only to find the fucking thing had rebooted instead.
Let’s see if it behaves when I do it in an hour or two.

I’ll take them over the worse evil but that’s not a situation I’m happy with.
Fucking neoliberal arseholes.

There’s always money to be made if one doesn’t stand for anything.

I was making a parallel to another wildly over-hyped technology that has had multiple opportunities to make it when it’s clearly only suitable for niche usecases.
LLMs and “AI” are not useless but the notion that they’ll lead to something significantly more advanced is fundamentally misunderstanding the nature of the technology.

And VR will take off any day now?

You seem very convinced that glorified auto complete will lead to AGI…

I suppose if you’re that far right the gap between yourself and other points on the political spectrum is quite a gulf.

I thought it had had that for twenty years?
People actually like infinite scroll?
