I’ve recently convinced my daughter to try Mint on her system. She has GF 1650 and it worked out of the box with propietary Nvidia driver (nothing needed to install additionally, with the option to switch to open source driver). Really, it’s not worse than on Windows.
As hard as plugging in a USB with OS and follow instructions.
The fact that people HAD to learn to use Windows, too. It’s just in the past and appears easy because they already can. If a person used computers with Linux from the start, it would be as easy for them as for Windows users.

You can make your own cert. To make sure your cert belongs to you (your site) it is signed by authority and the client then may verify that authority (which cetificate is preinstalled in their system) in fact had verified ownership of your site and then signed your cert claims with their private key.
Computer games are no worse than hunting, board games, social game, or sports. It’s a kind of activity, which keeps your brain engaged, and some games also test your reaction. It’s a formiddable hobby, no worse than the others.

Not everyone writes open source. Let’s put the reasons aside, but GPL stuff is unusable outside of open source. MIT and Apache are the licenses that make code really free.

Very yes. But GPL license, while inteded to make IT world better, still makes life harder for common developers.
Can’t agree more. Blender is very solid 3D editor software with a lot of features for creating 3D models and scenes, whereas other software of such level of functionality is very expensive. I’m no way a professional 3D modeller, but I am very grateful for enthusiasts behind Blender to make it possible for random people to even touch the world of 3D modelling, not even speaking about to create quality assets for their pet projects.
Thought Ascendancy was pretty known at the time. Anyway, if you’ve missed Dune, it’s quite a fun game.
