At the very beginning I woke up one morning and could not use my right hand, the tendons were so painful. I’ve had a lot of trouble with my hands, but they had been better, so I was pretty concerned, until I got ready to go out and realized that I had gained a habit of death gripping the small spray bottle of rubbing alcohol I’d been keeping in my right hand jacket pocket. I’d been spraying everything (outside my house) before I touched it, like door handles and such, but just clinging to the bottle for dear life even when not in use.

Some of us were microwaving it 🙄

I put the third one down as well, it just got too far into horror. I didn’t really have a problem with any of the dialogue or character development and really liked the first two. I do tend to be very uncritical of novels in that respect though. I was just not at a time in my life where I wanted to read horror in my leisure time. I went from that to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series and was ever so delighted.

Foxes are “prominent poopers” and I have several areas in my (rural) yard where foxes proudly display their turds. Atop an 8x8 fence post, a raised cement culvert opening, a mound of loam I never got around to landscaping with. They are replaced every few days, I find myself noticing the seasonal diets of the local foxes. It’s lizards, small rodents and fruit for the most part. Very occasionally birds.

I tried reading the Cage of Souls series after absolutely loving the Children of Time series, but I couldn’t really get into it. Do you recommend any of his other works?
