I agree, they are just going to hit the wall again way too fast. If the limit is 256 or 2^8, they should increase it to 65536 or 2^16. Now that’s a limit that feels safer to leave at for many year to come.

I enjoy listening to these podcasts more for their entertainment value than just trying to get the best information.

What’s Good Games - Industry veterans who run a little too high energy go over gaming news as well as games they’ve played and often get hands-on impressions for upcoming titles.

Square Roots - A Let’s Play on classic RPGs that goes into great detail on each game across multiple episodes featuring the hosts thoughts and opinions on the games as they play through each section together.

Won’t light based wi-fi have problems penetrating walls? I did not see that point brought up in the article.

I know I don’t want to dual boot permanently, but I had not thought about doing it for just the setup period.

That’s something I want to do, but I’m afraid of missing something while backing up up my files and losing it in the OS wipe. It’s a lousy excuse, I know, but it still stops me. Mostly since I play a lot of games and don’t want to lose any save files tucked away somewhere unexpected.

That stuff should all be in C:/Users, but what if its not. And would have to go to each of my installed pieces of software to make sure any of my files are properly backed up which is so much work. Which only reveals another issue that I am terrible at keeping my stuff backed up.

If it was just about maintenance costs, that would be easy. By being public, Twitter and Reddit will need to always grow revenue, every year they are expected to bring in more money than the previous. Stable and sufficient are not good enough, it will always need to be more. And that’s how these apps get shitty.

That was a great read, I’d never heard of Prodigy, but its sad how since the beginning of the internet, companies have been trying to monetize community and just end up destroying it.
