I left beehaw because I was being targeted by a user using gaslighting and lies.

When I responded to this user (I will admit, too strongly), the mods removed my comments, but left his initial lies and gaslighting up, even though I had reported them (and even messaged one of the admins directly – it was actually a beehaw admin’s actions against my comments.) To be clear, I understood the removal of my comments, but I did not understand why the user’s lies and rudeness against me still remained.

I mentioned tumblr because it was where the information I was sharing had initiated, and I encouraged people to take the discussion there, since a productive discussion was no longer possible here. I never said I was moving there myself.

I then removed the rest of my comments and posts on beehaw.

I was already on tumblr, so I didn’t “move from” Beehaw to there. I was also already on this account, so nor did I move here – I was already here all along, where I’ve had no similar problems.

I saw a BBC documentary about a similar situation. People are being exploited on both sides of the phone line.

It still is. I use a custom collection, and adding extensions is a huge pita because you practically have to use Jedi mind tricks to get Mozilla to show all the extensions on Android.

That said, Libredirect works just fine on Fennec once it’s installed.

Not an ad, but pretty questionable for a YouTuber to put a plug for their sponsor as the frontmost text, when many of us use sponsorblock to actively avoid seeing such content.

At least it’s a good warning not to click that link.

You’re asking someone who’d spent a good chunk of my life creating Skyrim mods for free and volunteering for services in my community with no recompense or desire for money how I expect people to contribute things they presumably enjoy without getting paid? To be clear, you’re asking me this from a server on a federated platform that is held together with community love and free-will donations?

I know we’ve been conditioned by capitalism to reduce everything to its monetary worth, but I feel like we should know better here.

Literally the first video posted was one of the creators in a selfie video at the zoo. That’s the YouTube I want back. That’s what it was meant to be.

Tell me how to filter all that highly polished crap from my feed and searches, because I don’t want it. I hate all that shit being shoved at me. If I wanted to watch someone spouting bad takes with a highly polished commercial-friendly veneer, I’d watch cable. I hate all those monetized channels, and they can all go under for all I care, along with that entire hellsite. Then more people would support actually good non-monetized projects like peertube.

Even if what I’m doing is stealing, it’s a good thing. Can’t wait for YouTube’s demise. It’s not a fun site to use anymore because all the good non-monetized content gets buried in favor of these soul-sucking assholes.

I don’t even click people’s links anymore, because it’s always some rich bearded white male with the most painful content.

My “favorite” lecture from young people is the one in which they berate me for “stealing content” by not watching ads on YouTube.
