I’m not the OP, but I suspect Reddit may ban/shadowban any post promoting a reader app that doesn’t use the official API. Or maybe he posted there already and wants to spread his message on Lemmy too. As for RedReader, I use it occasionally, but I stopped posting and commenting on Reddit since the API exodus.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this kind of behavior is not exclusive to Reddit. Lemmy has its own share of power-trip mods in some communities. I thought (wrongly) that someone that took the effort of leaving Reddit and coming here would think differently than the average Reddit mod, but I guess the allure of demonizing anyone that disagrees with you is too irresistible for them.

Yeah, the ideal outcome is someone using the site dump on Archive.org to create a sucessor site. The longer it takes to get done, the more people will rely on Dicord to host romhacks, which is terrible for discoverability.

Most CPUs I’ve found in these Chinese sites claim they’re used parts, probably from old servers from Chinese companies, which explains the amount of Xeons being offered. But if the part comes in the original box, why would Intel/AMD create an official package for these failed QA parts?

You have just proved right there why current internet users in general don’t have the maturity to have likes publicly visible. The urge to do a witch hunt is just too irresistible.

When cancel culture was not on full throttle, maybe likes being public made more sense. If only the global like count is the more widely known metric, hiding who liked what is not too significant of a change. It’s not something totally out of the ordinary either, considering most contries’ electoral systems guarantee the individual votes are kept secret.

That’s an awful decision by Twilo. I deliberately only install Authy on my Desktop computers because they’re always at home and cannot be easily stolen/lost like my phone.

I used a seedbox some time ago to download a specific big torrent (at the time). I payed using Paypal, as I don’t consider seedboxes a low-hanging-fruit for rightsholders to persecute at the moment.

There’s too much redundant data on these services, so if they takedown one user’s data, there’s still lots of the same torrented data on other user’s. I don’t think rightsholders are willing to play wack-a-mole for such infractions.

They’d rather invest their resources on more centralized file sharing, such as big public torrent sites and cyberlockers.

And it was never my intention being combative about the NewPipe competitors. I just think Vanced and ReVanced are in a completely different category of apps. As they potentially may step on some DMCA rule, they’re far more vulnerable of being taken out by Google. And most hobbyst devs just abandon their projects at the first sign of a DMCA or Cease and Desist.
