ok, so seems like I will have to use a double bang then. It does not seem match ddg bangs 1:1 though. And some don’t seem to be working correctly on my instance (E.g. !!mc for metacritic redirects to the wrong page)

I use the closest one to me from searx.space. I suppose hosting an instance yourself will give you the best response times, but it always still takes a moment while it searches through multiple search engines. If you only care about the results of one engine (e.g. google) then you could disable the others. Might speed it up a bit.
I didn’t know that, very useful. I suppose this is only for using other search engines like google, bing, etc… right?
Or can it also search immediately on other websites like metacritic, rotten tomatoes by using bangs?
Ublacklist works with searx? Good to know, I want to try this myself.
Your search results must be so clean and useful.
Yeah, I used it for a long while in the past. Now mostly on searxNG, but I still like the bangs and quick results from ddg. Kagi is also pretty good, but feels a bit too pricey in my country.
Hyprland seems pretty popular these days. I want to use it (or sway) but didn’t have the chance to figure out how to run it with my nvidia card
Yeah. He even has a server rack at home. But still uses windows for all his devices. Luckily he’s not crazy enough to run windows server.
That sounds pretty nice actually. I’m based in Sydney, but I don’t really find anything like a computer club nearby.
Maybe i just don’t know how to search for it.
I’m running NixOs as a daily driver for a while now. It’s the first time I want to actively convince people to try out a distro. But then I realise most people around me would not want to bother learning how to configure it.
Man, I wish there were more people around me who cared about discussing Linux and open source software. Only one person I know actually understands it, but he’s still running windows for games and programming.
I learned to put both my palms around the lid, fingers crossing over my hands and then press hard inwards. This will pop the lid and then you can easily twist it open.
Useful if you don’t have any utensil nearby
