Don’t be a bigot. Tall girls are awesome.
*(Also in case you weren’t being a bigot and were instead referring to what it’s really like to work in tech: I do know industry isn’t entierly cat girls in coding socks, but most of the computers for career people I’ve known have been.)
It involves a lot of tall girls in thigh high socks, sometimes they wear cat ears too. And they do a lot of typing on extra clackity keyboards.
Don’t let him round your kids. He treated you terribly and hasn’t changed, you shouldn’t expose your children to someone like that. It doesn’t matter if he’s your dad.
Tiglath is nice though.
I’ve never seen what you’re describing. Not about Russians anyway. I’ve seen far too many zionists saying that shit about Palestinians tho.
I swear this exact thread happened like last month?
Thank you! I had no idea.
Where are the invites kept for tildes users to give out? Like how do I find them on the site?
I haven’t had any invites to give out, I would otherwise!
From what I’ve read they’re given out randomly to Tildes users but I’m guessing there might be an upvote/comment/post threshold that has to be reached first to be eligible, and it’s unlikely I’ve come close to that yet.
I got invited by someone on Kbin tho, so keep asking in threads like these and hopefully you’ll get one soon!
I read through the top pages every few days and there’s some interesting people there.
It’s a very small community though and not a place for memes or silliness, so it’s kinda intimidating and I don’t commemt much.
Since leaving reddit with the migration, I’m now on Kbin, tumblr, Tildes, and playing somewhat more regularly on Subeta and Dappervolk.
In real life, I’m not so great at coherent conversational speech. I come across intense and weird and as I can’t information process in real time and talk quickly and without eye contact, it’s not so great for being heard/listened to. (Guess who has autism?)
Online, I can edit my words and have enough space to think about what I want to say and try to navigate how it will be percieved, so my communication style is far more legible and sometimes even comes across as smart and/or funny.
Think about why is it demeaning to call a man a ‘sissy’. What is that comparing him to?
And calling a man a cuck is emasculating because it implies he is weaker than, and controlled by, who?
Oooh, now I need to find a nerd with a 3d printer. I want to make socks!
I was working under a different understanding where emasculation is humiliation due to lack of ‘traditional masculine trait’
Men who lack ‘traditional masculine traits’ or behave in ‘un-manly’ ways are referred to with what sort of language?
What are the humiliating comparisons made to these men?
Emasculation happens when ‘feminine behaviour’ in men removes pervieved power and agency and makes them feel degraded. Bare in mind, weakness is considered a feminine behaviour.
What removes power and agency from women is not us displaying masculinity, it’s having our gender and sex used against us and/or against our will.
So being percieved as overly emotional/unstable, sexually promiscuous, not capable of intelligence or leadership, etc. and being raped and physically manhandled.
That is what is degrading to women.
I bought a new netbook last year to watch stuff on as my old one from like 10 years ago finally fell apart.
I fucking hate the new Windows so much and I’m not techy enough to change the operating system to something better, so I barely use it as watching stuff on my phone is easier.
