Yeah, but then both OP and The Verge wouldn’t have such a juicy headline for sick internet points and clicks.

It’s more accurate to say “~15,000 Roku users were hacked due to reused passwords”, and reusing passwords is one of the worst things you can do security-wise because if your password got leaked on one website (doesn’t even need to be the full password, just the hash would work), you are now entirely compromised everywhere you reuse that password.

  • If you think porn and sexuality being normalized is a bad thing, you should reaaaaaaally think hard on your beliefs for a minute.

Sure, there’s the objectification of both men and women that pornography produces - that is a bad thing, but that’s not solely form porn either. Marketing ads love to objectify people (especially women) for an extra buck or two, and those are practically shoved in our faces openly every single day. Social media is basically just a gallery of this shit too if you’re just looking at whatever garbage the platform feeds you based on trends and what not.

Porn itself isn’t bad, and sexuality is arguably as important as both intellectual and emotional depth are because we’re humans and we have that primal part of our brains still. Yet in the US, for example, both of those things are worse than, say, a violent film. To me, that is the messed up part here.

  • It’s because they’re redditors, and most likely still use reddit - including ones that were all “iM gOnNa LeAvE rEdDiT” and deleted their account and posts.

I ended going back to reddit as well with a new account because I still have some niche communities that still go on there, and I don’t really dig using Discord servers for those communities. I also think the fediverse is slowly becoming a worse version of reddit by taking the worst habits of redditors and combining it with (as far as I know, at least) underdeveloped moderation tools.

  • CD-R since it’s better for compatibility and I actually had issues with RW in the past where I could only burn a CD once and not be able to rewrite on it. I was burning them as audio CDs for car use at the time.

Nowadays? Rip ‘em and slap them onto an external drive (maybe even onto the cloud if you wanna go that far), then toss out or donate the CD so you don’t have to lug that shit around. I’d rather buy the vinyl if it’s an album I really like.
