Has there been an update? The last time I tried this… It was not a good experience… Seemed to crash pretty often, but I am on an arm64 device… so maybe that has something to do with it

I either get down voted or ignored for this… But you should check out beeper. It’s just matrix with bridges but makes the login procedure much easier for normies as it’s an email two way auth vs maintaining a key and password…

So covids def changed the place, but I’m rooting for it… But I love Montreal, QC. I know Quebec gets hate for being rude to non French speakers but I’ve genuinely only had one bad experience and it was a McDonald’s outside Montreal… But the food is great, they have a lot to do both indoor and outdoor and it helps coming from the states my money is worth a bit more. Im aware, I’m specifically speaking about the log in process being simpler for most people on beeper vs matrix. I use beeper thru nheko, as you said it’s just matrix. But less work for the end user

Self host beeper… I love matrix but people struggle with maintaining a key and password … beeper simplifies this and has other chat protocols (bridges) that might entice normies.

I’m talking about the android client for beeper but have used it for nheko…and it does support e2ee. I use it for all matrix convos and rooms. Maybe something changed in the time you last used it and I signed up, but yeah not having any e2ee issues once I verified the key

so unfortunately, you can’t log into your matrix account, but rather it creates a @username:beeper.com account. Which (if you bug them) you can use to log into your favorite matrix client. but you can then join our favorite rooms and chat folks using normal matrix commands.

maybe a hot take… but beeper. makes it way easier to manager the keys and crap with an email login for those that loose their passwords all the time. and linking their other favortire socials might be a selling point. but if youre super cautious/paranoid, they have ways to run your own server. (i use their servers…)

The only podcasts I listen to are the unexpectables ones. I don’t even really like DND but MontyGlu is an amazing voice actor and role player… Like you can tell she genuinely cares for her NPCs and can tell the differences in characters from the nuisance of her characters and the candor I’m which they speak. I haven’t had much luck finding that else where. And that’s ignoring the fantastic world she has built for her players.
