I have a serious anxiety when it comes to video calls. My direct colleagues know about it and don’t mind, but it is weird when having remote meetings involving other people. This is probably really harming my professional success.
So I was considering trying some Chatroulette like service to get more relaxed towards video calls, but was really put off when hearing about all the offensive sexual weirdness there.
Eyechat would omit that while still being near enough to a classic full-face video-call. I think this might actually work as some kind of exposure therapy. I might give it a try.

Well, you just have to not use the internet. Just like in the olden times…
I also have an old XP laptop stored away. Its only purpose: Talk to my old photo negative scanner whose software won’t run on more recent OS’s. Only communication with the outside world is by USB memory stick.
I still have my old Lenovo X61T which is nearly as old. With maxed out RAM (4GB) and an SSD it is actually still quite usable (running Linux). I love its great keyboard, that’s the reason I kept it. At some time my kids discovered that it is still able to run Minetest at reduced settings and so it now is part of the occasional LAN-Party when friends are over. Opens my heart to see the old buddy right in the middle of action being used by a bunch of kids that are only slightly over half its age!

Generell eine gute Idee, ich habe auch zwei Lampen dran.
Neben besserer Ausleuchtung hast Du auch gleich eine Ausfall-Redundanz und wirst im Dunkeln nicht so als Punkt-Lichtquelle wahrgenommen. Dadurch sollte sich die Entfernungs-Einschätzung durch andere günstig verbessern.
Bitte aber unbedingt darauf achten, dass die “Fern”-Lampe nicht wirklich in die Ferne strahlt sondern einen abfallenden Winkel hat und nach 10m oder so auch auf dem Strasse landet.
Ansonsten läufst Du Gefahr dass Dich entgegenkommende Radler fluchend in die Radler-Hölle wünschen, wo alle Strecken bergauf mit Gegenwind und Nieselregen führen… ;-)
Ich hab das vergleichbare Set von Aldi. Da ist die Halterung mit Schraube, hält ziemlich gut und ist kompatibel mit meiner Busch & Müller Lampe die ich parallel dazu verwende.
Yes, Tuxedo would normally be my go-to-dealer. But they have a limited offering. Would be nice to also have an alternative. System76 states it delivers to Europe but won’t show me the actual cost unless I register there. Won’t happen as I anyway suspect that the total sum will go way up. Tuxedo will be the better deal overall also regarding possible after sales issues…
