Passkeys. They’ll probably improve eventually but I feel like right now it’s a mess.
On Android you are forced to use the default implementation, only in 14 and above can you use password managers for them.
On desktop it’s somewhat less messy but you can use the system storage or a password manager extension. Some sites only let you use them for 2FA, some full login, some can’t be put in a password manager from my experience and so on.
Just a mess right now.
Looks interesting! Might give it a go later to check it out.
Same thing here, except with a one extra number:
“raspberrypi5”
Marp might also work. I believe it’s a bit more limited but it is simpler. I think it may also pe based on Revealjs
Yeah, the official way from what I understand is basically a container running inside a VM (with multiple containers behind a flag). They run Debian, but I believe there are tutorials for other OS’s if you want to try.
I’ve also heard of people who just replace chromeos with a Linux install, but I think that puts you at more risk of bricking your device.
Not sure if it counts, but I’ll share it anyways.
I use a chromebook which has two Linux containers running on it. One of them I’m experimenting with learning Docker and possibly selfhosting some things there. Only running one thing right now, and it seems to be going fine.
The other container is my main Linux “install”, which has all my apps like Inkscape, VSCode, Kdenlive, etc. The container uses a mix of nix, flatpak, and apt for installing things, which I do want to try and consolidtae eventually.
Probably not the weirdest of them all, but I do think it’s pretty cool to run all this on a chromebook.
It was only in a container on a Chromebook, but I’ll share it anyway. One time, I had installed Android Studio but found it mildly annoying that I got a line when using apt about Android Studio and some error on a certain line of this one file. I believe the file was something related to dpkg, and after changing some things within the file, I seemed to have broken apt. Luckily, I had a backup, but it was a few days old, so I had to reinstall some apps.
Even though I don’t have Prime, Amazon’s moves are making other sites more attractive. Walmart has been pretty good recently, offering 2-3 day shipping at no additional cost in my experience, along with a better app UI/UX. Now that Amazon has upped the minimum for free shipping, the only edge it holds over Walmart is the wider selection.
Not all phones have it I believe. For example, OnePlus just removed one day with an update when they switched to using a ColorOS skin.
Might start an argument but:
GIF -> GHIF
They’re already doing that with MDN. Hopefully it doesn’t happen to the browser.
What happens with my contributions?
Your contributions are uploaded to the OpenStreetMap database and that data can be used for many purposes. Stuff like making map apps for routing, maps for background overlays, using the data to analyze trends, and much more.
How long before they’re wrapped up into a map update?
Edits from StreetComplete are uploaded to the OSM database pretty much immediately. Afterwards it depends on whatever app you are using to pull that data in and process it. Some apps like OSMand have the ability to update within minutes, other apps like Organic Maps update monthly, and others update less often or on a different schedule.
Do other people have to solve the same quest as a double check?
No, once a quest on StreetComplete is uploaded there are no double checks. Other users can check for uploads from StreetComplete users but this is something separate and would be done after the data is uploaded. Though I believe StreetComplete may re-ask some quests after some time to confirm stuff like opening hours is still up to date.
This is off the top of my head so feel free to correct me if I missed something.
Yep, basically all the space that was occupied by video thumbanails is now empty with a graphic explaining why. I would attach a screenshot but I no longer seem to have that graphic anymore and it’s back to normal.
It has already shown up for me and I don’t really mind. The only thing I do on YouTube now is look up a creator and watch a video I want based on my Newpipe feed.
