Forza Horizon 4 did this but worse. It would be an unskippable 2 minute video ad ignoring your volume settings. It only played 5 times in my 45 hours of gameplay but it was so damn unacceptable that it’s reminding me to give that game a negative review.
Forza Horizon 5 does not do this. Get that game or something else instead.
They should allow premium users to use third party YouTube clients using an API, like Reddit before Spez’s war on third party apps.
It is currently overhyped and so much of it just seems to be copying the same 3 generative AI tools into as many places as possible. This won’t work out because it is expensive to run the AI models. I can’t believe nobody talks about this cost.
Where AI shines is when something new is done with it, or there is a significant improvement in some way to an existing model (more powerful or runs on lower end chips, for example).
I’ve never had premium, mostly out of spite after the forcing ads on unmonetized creators and removing the dislike count, once I was able to afford it. But I’ve seen some other post on Lemmy with the “products you may like” appearing on a premium account.
I’ve seen people getting a “products you may like” in the suggestions, with premium. There is no way to remove that (other than uBlock origin)
It’s not just that, it’s also random content totally outside of your interest (I watch gaming and motorcycle content and it tries to feature some foreign holiday celebration videos lol) and worse, “products you may like.”
If I pay this kind of money, I expect an API to user-respecting third party apps.
That’s what they should do. Allow use of Reddit-style third party apps (before the API debacle) for premium users.
It’s not about paying, it’s about still getting these stupid featured pop-ups after paying.
This is the true reason why I don’t have YouTube premium. This is quite an awful experience for a supposedly premium subscription. Why pay for premium if the experience is better using free methods?
Please corporations, treat paying subscribers well.
My 2nd monitor. It’s some 24" curved 165Hz 1080p monitor that I bought from a guy at my university for $105. While not the best for gaming (noticable ghosting), it’s been incredibly helpful for work as it gets more complicated in university. The extra screen real estate lets me fit so much more without needing to alt tab or click on another window.
You probably mean the 13700H, but yeah. I wonder if there’s a way to separate the P and E cores in the graph.
On storage, the markup is about 2000%.
And on RAM if we compare to DDR5 (not totally fair because of how Apple’s unified memory works), it’s about 800% marked up.
Interesting. I’m guessing the changes were too big to just be added incrementally in updates to GTK 3?
Thank you for the explanation! What specifically does Qt 6 do that Qt 5 can’t do?
I’m not the most knowledgeable on this subject, but I’m curious to learn more.
Why do various toolkits have major releases that seem to reset the features of the last one?
GTK 3 seems like GTK 2 but slower to me, and before the transition was even complete GTK 4 showed up, which just seems like GTK 3 but a bit different. Qt 5 works really well and is efficient on resources, so why are we switching to Qt 6? It seems like reinventing the desktop over and over again.
I understand updates for the kernel for compatibility, small to medium updates to all software for bug fixes and new features, and major updates to toolkits when there are big problems with the current release (X vs Wayland for example). Or if the current release was unreliable and bloated, which I heard was what happened with Qt 4 and why they switched to 5. But I also heard Qt 3 was really stable and lightweight, so why did they switch away from it?
Wow. I was just taking a break from an ethics assignment whether Copilot is ethical to use while developing code, and then I see this post.
I believe Copilot is mostly ethical to use in development, as a tool. This is just Microsoft trying to force Copilot into a place where it wasn’t meant to be and will lead to so much wasted electricity.
It’s like taking the MVP in Baseball and forcing him to play Tennis and expecting good results against Tennis pros. Stop shoehorning good AI tools into the wrong places that are better equipped using different tools.
I see absolutely insane numbers on Google docs, 10000+ blocked. My total per year is now over 5 million. A lot more intense than a few years ago, where it took multiple years to reach 3 million.
I'm being as safe as I can. I'm ATGATT and I started on a beginner bike without much power.
