I’m patently against subscriptions but am currently paying for ChatGPT plus. I’m also that girl who’s installed other models on some decently beefy machines and have compared/contrasted. While I also don’t think AI is going to be everything to all people and that it has very specific applications, I’m literally the target audience and I’ve found ChatGPT to be superior in everything except math/complex problems/coding. That’s what I’ve got Mixtral for. _
If it’s mainly for gaming Bazzite is the bees knees. I just like to get creative and try crazy stuff and Bazzite no likey. As a commenter said below though, there’s some drama around future releases. At the same time I’m honestly just waiting for the proper PC SteamOS drop.

Wish I’d known this a month ago xD.

I ran into problems with bazzite recognizing that second hard drive where I wanted to store my game files. Had to jump through some hoops to make sure Steam had the correct path. Just FYI
Yeah but these laws are protecting corporate assets so…
Well this makes the situation make more sense. How could you possibly make a profit setting up these factories in America without the use of essentially slave labor?

This. Also be sure to go to the compatibility section and select ‘Enable Steam Play for all other titles.’ Otherwise you’re borked.
Just for completeness, I like Bazzite for gaming over Linux Mint, but Linux Mint should still work fine.

Heheh I have full respect for Millenials. Notice I just said ‘younger generations’.

Depends on how fringe you go. There’s a remarkable amount of stuff that can be installed from the Program Manager. The ones that aren’t will take some tweaking but… I remember a time when I was trying to do this very thing in Windows 95. If you want it bad enough, you’ll figure it out.
I’m trying to channel my younger GenX, and if it’s a bit of a struggle for younger generations then I encourage them to embrace it. It’s an unfortunate truth that not everything works like it works on an IPhone, and I can’t overstate how important it is to learn some of the basics of the OS and troubleshooting for everyone’s future.

Until we as a society agree to stop paying them and let them experience true losses, they will never return to pleasing the customer.

I thought it was pretty commonplace for people to just set up a vpn on their router and act like they’re on their own network. I guess I’m an idiot, but I’m actually surprised people were paying for this in the first place.

Seems Firefly Aerospace has got this all sorted, though. Amazing feat for them last week to have a flawless landing.
Sorry, maybe because I’m American, so in case our other friends are confused… Managers are below Executives in every capacity and when you ‘flatten’ your radial grid, they mean firing managers. They are the yessiest of the yes men in corporate america.
C-Suite = CEO, CTO, CFO, etc.
Executives = Presidents, Vice Presidents, Directors, etc.
Managers = The people who manage the workers, ie handle scheduling, duties, metrics, and having to eventually fire someone because the people above tell them to.
Workers = The people who actually know the job.
It’s so cute that they put Managers above Executives. Man up and call it what it is, instead… The C-Suite

This is accurate really. Linux Mint is excellent for people who want to get away from Windows and learn Linux because it looks similar. Bazzite, however, especially the KDE version, honestly looks better than Windows at this point, imo.
In addition to making gaming much much easier, it also has an atomic code core, meaning that all the stuff you will eventually break on Linux Mint by playing around with different programs… and eventually lead to a new Linux user re-installing… is almost non-existent. Programs are installed in their own space with their own dependencies, meaning that they don’t encroach on any other programs using similar drivers, configurations, etc. When those programs are uninstalled, they’re just gone.
So if you can finally game on a Linux distro, not worry so much about borking a linux distro, and it looks and feels both modern and intuitive at the same time…
Why not put in on a spare laptop or something and get some hours in? Microsoft needs some serious pruning and unfortunately they seem immune to criticism that doesn’t come in the way of lost revenue.
When one server goes down, it’s taken out back, shot, and replaced on the line.
And then Skynet remembers…

The normal behavior of corporations IS bad. By definition.
So… the fact that the beta literally just never finishes scanning my disk is because I need to purchase it? o.O
