Linux has had MPP (Microsoft Pen Protocol) support baked in for some time now. Dell sells such a pen which they call the Dell Active Pen but theoretically any MPP pen should work.

It’s not exactly what you are looking for, because the pen is not battery free, but the star lite is a surface style convertible that ships with Linux out of the box. And it supports MPP pens
Hier ist das Video für alle die kein X haben (und bei denen nitter nicht funktioniert)
In other words Airdrop for Linux that works with both iOS and Android.
May I introduce you to LocalSend
I’ve just tried building Thunder for desktop and it works fine so far without any tweaks nessesary. In fact I’m writing this comment using this very build.
If there’s interest I might be looking into turning this into a proper flatpak.
Neo store has had that feature for some time as well
It’s not just a YouTube downloader, it also allows you to download videos from, as the official website says, “a few more sites”. Those include social media sites such as twitch or twitter but also the online platforms of TV networks. If you live in the US, you can for example download full episodes from the big broadcasting networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) and PBS. If you’re British you can download stuff from the BBC. Germans find their public broadcasters supported as well. Likewise for a bunch of other European countries and Australia.
And with a good VPN you have access to all of the above.

I don’t think it’s practical. Sure, you could install termux and use that to run Jellyfin, but you won’t have a pleasant time.
The better play is, to play spend 30 Bucks on a refurbished thin client and use that as your server. If you install Open Media Vault on there you’ll never even have to touch the command line. (You’ll have to install OMV-Extras on top of Open Media Vault for that).
You mean the outdated piece of software that everyone (on Linux) used, which is slowly being replaced by multiple different implementations all based on the same standard? Seems to me like an apt (no pun intended) metaphor.
Those Linux eqivalents also (often) have Windows versions. You can test if they work for you and make the big switch if they do
Solus and Manjaro are shipping Snap installed by default and I’ve never had a problem installing snapd on fedora. All I ever had to do for that was run a single standard dnf install. Apparmor doesn’t pose the problem you think it does
Ich bin ja ein Freund von Rauchverboten für Autos. Aber da sind FDP und Union ja auch irgendwie dagegen
Snap is portable to other distros, look at the official website and you see a list of distros, you can use snap on. That doesn’t mean that there is no vendor lock-in, just a different kind. Snap as a format grew out of Cannonicals effort in the mobile field. Snaps where supposed to be the truly convergent successor to click, the packaging format used by Ubuntu Touch. And this history is baked into its DNA. It’s right there on the snapcraft website: “The app store for Linux”. As such Cannonical has always courted proprietary software and/or software by big companies (VS Code was first released as a snap for a reason). I think that they have always have had an eye on one day adding app payments and the sweet, sweet 30% cut they can take from every sale
You are probably thinking of freetube
Your best bet is probably to get a refurbished thinkpad. I’ve seen X1 Carbons (their ultra thin Macbook-like line of ultrabooks) for 250 bucks on backmarket. That’s the 2016 model (G5) and not in the best tier of refurbishment (So there might be some small scratches on the chassis) but the hardware should be more than enough for your usecase. Linux generally speaking does very well on low end hardware and thinkpads are especially well supported.
One thing though: DON’T INSTALL KALI ON YOUR DEVICE, IT’S NOT DESIGNED FOR THAT. Or rather it wasn’t. Originally Kali was meant to be run of a thumb drive only. By now enough people have attempted to install it that the devs have given up and provide a bare metal edition. That is just Debian with some stuff preinstalled though. There is very little secret source (like the “undercover mode”). You should go with debian and try to build your toolbox as you go. This way you will get a better insight into your Linux system because it forces you to set up everything yourself
Your half right. It’s not really the OS’s fault but rather the fault of the browsers and app-frameworks that use the browser in the background (electron). Because neither Firefox nor chrome have this feature implemented for Linux. The official Discord client doesn’t do it either but other ones such as Sunroof do. It’s possible that at least one Matrix client has learnt to share the screen with sound on Linux but I don’t know of any (I also don’t use Matrix a lot so don’t pay too much attention to my experience on that)
