Hi
Mint is excellent, its one of the most stable distros I have found as well as being fleshed out and easy to use. Would I prefer it was based on straight debian instead of ubuntu, yup. But it isnt so I just live with that.
Out of the box I would say Debian needs a fair amount of work after installation before it is an easy to use desktop OS.
I would seriously look a a distro that is a little more desktop oriented like Mint.Straight Debian needs a lot of work after installation before its really nice as a desktop solution, out of the box it does make a great server however.
Apparently Plex and Emby (Jellyfin) do audio book sorting, but Ive never been able to get them to work right
Mint is the best ubuntu derivative that I have seen and I use it for a lot of installs. Its easy to upgrade and maintain, easy to use, rock solid. Great overall distro for desktop or server
