  • Goddamn, yeah. I dont play a lot of competitive multiplayer, but I actually was decent at tribes ascend. I remember in whichever game mode where you have to hold the flag for as long as possible I was pretty decent. I wasn’t great at shooting people, but once I got that flag I could skate so fast it was tough for people to catch me.

    Simply nothing like it nowadays.

  • You could turn the dialogue audio off, I’d hope there’s a slider. If you’re on PC there’s actually a goddamn mod where you can press a button to skip the currently playing line of dialogue.

I agree, though, there’s a lot of just waiting for the quest dialog to get it over with so you can get to the next objective. I really like BL3, but it does have a lot of caveats.

Mine would be the fact that you can’t sort your inventory by highest sell price. I mean, come on, what were they thinking?!

  • I still go back and listen through the original Arrow Pointing Down/Giant Bombcast up until Ryan’s passing. The age of the content makes it downright historically interesting now for their commentary on game releases.

The chemistry of those guys (Vinny and Brad included) is still untouchable, no one can rein Jeff in and play off him as well as Ryan did, and Ryan is by far my favorite person to ever grace that website and podcast, and rightfully so as it was his child with Jeff. Rest in peace.

  • I don’t have 4, but if it’s like 3 then there are regular characters who can die and are persistent, then there are seasonal characters who can die but may only be created at the beginning of, and are deleted at the end of, a given season.

Then there’s hardcore, who are persistent forever but can only die one time. All three have their own ecosystems in which characters created in a given mode can share gold, certain upgrades, and items with each other, but not outside of their own mode. You can have multiple hardcore characters share items and gold, but you can’t give those to regular or seasonal characters, and so on.
