I don’t know what platform you’re using but for desktop linux I use Nerd Dictation and for android I use FUTO Keyboard, both are completely offline and FOSS.

I go to see what a membership entails and it points me to download an app. No clue if the membership is free or not because I don’t want or need an app for every utility and purchase I make. People like you and I are not the norm but from my viewpoint you’re being reasonable and the world has lost all sense of normalcy and reason.

To avoid these things I use uBlock Origin and Consent-O-Matic

You could say that for everyone pushing for an encryption ban. If they use whatsapp, encryption, if they use https websites, encryption. Banning encryption is nigh impossible, it’s like trying to ban prime numbers. What they’ll actually do is get even easier backdoors and criminalise the masses that use it while still using it themselves.
