If you like the DS4, you will most possibly like the Pro 2. They have a nearly identical form factor. I like the feel of the Pro 2 with it’s textured back more.
Buttons, d-pad and sticks are great, also on par with the DS4. The back buttons are nice to use, while I never triggered them accidentally. Only the Start and Select buttons are just okayish, but do the job.
The new 8bitdo Pro 2 gamepads have hall effect stick, a symmetrical layout and are available in Europe. Made in China, though. I have … some of them. Love especially the translucent purple one.
Yeah, I am with you there. My Keychton K7 Pro came with linear switches. Ist is pretty nice for gaming, but writing just isn’t fun with them. There is something missing.
If you are happy with the Browns, that is totally fine. They are okay. Totally usable switches and waaay better than any rubber dome keyboards. They just suck a bit in comparison with better tactiles.
I really like tactile switches. Out of the few different brands and types, I tried, the Gateron Baby Kangaroo 2.0 (59 g) are my absolute favourite. I use them with my main keyboard atm.
My portable keyboard has some Banana low profile switches (60 g, also Gateron) and they are great, too. But low profile don’t feel as nice to type for me, as proper switches.
The Cherry MX Browns are a sad excuse for a tactile switch.

Where did you get that info? Checked Mobygames after Wikipedia. They also date G1 to 2001. G2 is from 2002. I was sure about the date, because I heard the Gothic episode from the amazing german podcast Stay Forever a few days ago and am now playing the first game. 😁

I scan nearly all the crap that comes in through my (physical) mailbox and throw it away. My trusty Brother multi laser thingy sends it to me per e-mail and I can sort it later, when the PC is on. Once a month or so, I need to print some pages and it does that, too. Awesome thing, wouldn’t want to miss it.
Exactly this. For me it becomes obvious, when I play older games. Sure, A Link to the Past is still a gem, Super Metroid or SMB3, too. But many of those older games, we have fond memories of, kind of suck today. Just a bit, they are still fun. But the magic is gone. Saw that with Sands of Time a few weeks ago. Then the System Shock Remake came and gave that sense of wonder back.
Downloads are no problem. Disk space is cheaper then ever. Go have fun discussing games on Lemmy while waiting for the download, watch a Video about it or whatever. It is just harder to have fun, because we have sooo much to choose from and because some of us became old grumpy farts (myself included).

I mean, you can change that behaviour somehow. But there are so many other small things like the constant vendor changes. Zypper is just so quirky. It’s a cool distro and to have a rolling release option like tumbleweed is always a big plus in my opinion, but I just wouldn’t recommend it to people who are not really eager to play around with their distro.
Ah, OpenSuse. The distro with the package management that spams your drive full of unnecessary optional dependencies.
Would always recommend EndeavourOS.
I have a One 3 in Mist Grey that came with Cherry Browns. Since I have put some Gateron Baby Kangaroes in there, I really like the keyboard.
