That’s a common criticism of the books. They’re chock full of cool ideas but the dialogue and character building are rather limited. It’s actually the entire reason I’m looking forward to this. If they can fix that side of the equation, we’re in for a treat
I agree, if they’re good at one thing it’s adaptations of existing stories. They botched the last season of GoT, but at least they wrote something in that time. GRRM still hasn’t gotten that far
I didn’t make any life-ruining mistakes, but like others have said I’d make certain investments. And I’d put the eyelid holders from Clockwork Orange on my friend, show him Requiem for a Dream, and hope he learns not to experiment with drugs

1·10 months agoAll this for fucking Sunglass Hut… But also, our jail system is ridiculous. Nobody should be unsafe in jail. And the fact that people are put in real danger due to an accusation is beyond broken.

I enjoyed it for some reason. I think I just preferred scanning and labeling over being in the truck unloading. And it felt like a Pip Boy. But that’s another thing, if you were loading vs. unloading that might be different. I wouldn’t want to lift anything with that on

There was a phrase in there which suggested to me that she was somehow Da Shi’s daughter, which didn’t help, but at least explained how she was “procured” so quickly. Then later I realized she’s probably not his daughter and I don’t know how he found her.
