Technology@lemmy.world•Gemini in Chrome can now see exactly what you’re looking at on screenEnglish
5·2 months agoNot OP, but its true. There have been times I’ve searched and tweaked like 7 times. Go to google with my original text and its the first link. This is not common though.
Similar boat, for me its cause of video editing and cuda, but how I hardly do that, and my reason before was because nvidia actually made Linux drivers while ATI (yeah, the last time I used a non-nvidia card in Linux) was a pain in my ass.
Things have changed just a little since they were ATI 🤣

1·11 months agoI didn’t either, but I started using floccus and syncing my bookmarks across my 2 computers and phone. In a pinch it works great for those obscure websites I don’t frequently visit.

2·11 months agoYeah I use plexamp a lot too and finamp is rough and reminds me of Android apps from 2012.
I also had weird quirks in the past where shows would crash and stop streaming or it would forget my position I stopped watching at, among other things.
And the hardest one is the manual labour I put in to make lists and fetch missing metadata that was actually accurate.

0·11 months agoEasy to say from this seat, I wonder what the next few generations will complain about for the rest of us. I’m sure we’re fucking stuff up so bad right now that we don’t even realize. There’s also plenty we are fucking up right now.

181·11 months agoYup, can’t wait to be tracked without my consent everywhere I go because of other people that want to pay money to become employed for free by private and government companies.
It was obvious to me it wasn’t the Wi-Fi and that made me cringe.

12·11 months agoYou mean you don’t like recommendations by default of the media you downloaded because you know exactly what you want to watch?
I really never understood that.
My assumption is that it’s a bridge to some sort of legitimacy like a movie rental deal or something. Like inserting ads into your self hosted media.

181·11 months agoThis is why I have Plex, emby, and jellyfin running in tandem. Plex still makes my life easier than the other two in a lot of ways, but it’s been slipping for years. Once I’ve finally had enough, jellyfin all the way.
So we have a new name for the copilot key now?
Since we already have super, maybe it can be the duper key?

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft announces it will automatically install the Copilot AI app alongside desktop versions of 365 products like Word, Excel and PowerPoint this OctoberEnglish
31·11 months agoNotepad is on there. It’s just shit now. Saves automatically, reopens your last notepads, has copilot crap. FFS. I usually used notepad as a scratch pad to dump shit temporarily.
Today I opened it on a client’s computer and they had 18 sage files or something automatically open back up. Problem was they were temporary files for doing bank transfer or whatever.
Notepad barked about the file kissing for each one. I killed it from task manager and had to use word. 🤮

This is comical.
How much RAM could a phone like this use, anyway?
Also, saying that they “listened” is bullshit. They just got worried they were priced too high so it wouldn’t sell. So they lowered it. If they listened they wouldn’t have it locked in with WhatsApp, a Meta/Facebook product as the only IM option other than SMS.
