  • Yep, although it’s almost been a year since the request so I don’t know how high it’s priority wise.

Since the question was why people use Kbin that is a big one for now, at least for me although I have an account there I just prefer lemmy since Kbin seems to be too much on its infancy and also the fact that because it doesn’t have an open API as of now, there are (almost) no apps developed.

  • Another solution if you don’t want to turn them off completely is either to:

    • Join an instance that has lemmynsfw and its alternatives blocked.

    Or

    • Block them yourself, I don’t know how to do this on browser but if you use this site on mobile, the app “connect for lemmee” has an option to block all comments and posts from people of any instance you choose, which is a lot more effective than blocking communities separately.

  • Kind of difficult since aside steam I have no clue on how many hours I have spent, especially for console games.

That aside, my most played game in steam are:

    • melvor idle with 1500 hours (it’s an idle to be fair, kind of runescape but it’s only a UI, you leave it open farming)
    • factorio at 700 hours (the entirety of the factory building genre is pure crack)
    • risk of rain 2 at 400 hours (it’s the perfect sequel and a damn fun roguelike where you stack items until your pc breaks)

  • Not necessarily, although YouTube shorts may be it’s own thing in terms of algorithm I frequently see andrew tate, ben shapiro, jordan peterdon clips despite disliking and inmediatly scrolling past when I see their faces. Also I have encountered a lot of anti feminism content of the likes of 2014 this year, where someone is seen mocking “feminists” making what seems like stupid remark and getting owned with some sigma face meme from the american psycho guy and music.

it has been the case multiple times that the YouTube algorithm makes weird connections which often lead to right wing channels being promoted. Or sometimes an entire subsection of creatores are libked with the alt right without being direct (the old atheism sphere, gaming channels are common ones too)

  • I don’t experience that tbh, I do notice that there are a lot of negative posts but that is do to the anti meta/threats circlejerk that was a bit strong this past week, and the week before it was all about how reddit is so bad now that people have migrated (another negativity fueled circlejerk), but these were more present on big communities that I saw when I browsed by /all, the small communities I frequent are still as good as they were if not better do to them growing and being a lot more active.

(just in case, the account is new but I have been browsing for like a month, its just vlemmy went down)
