I don’t even remember the last time Stephanie Sterling did anything like this, so it was just a weird blip. Not that she doesn’t goof a bunch. Still a great channel to stay up to date on the things that actually matter in the games industry instead of the usual hype machine shit. Buddy, imagine how happy this makes every marketing company in the world, your local police department, and your own government, all of which have a much more vested interest in everything you do on your computer and are considerably more of a threat to you than the ruling party of a country on the other side of the planet. There should be no reason not to transcode onboard, right? Modern mobile devices could probably process video no problem and then the upload would be smaller and quicker than sending the original. Only issue might be long videos, but I think there’s a case to be made that these types of platforms should have a firm duration cap of only a few minutes tops.

Yeah, it’s all from the same origin. The implication being that the one penetrating is “the man” and the one being penetrated is “the woman.” The other part of the implication being to fuck someone is good and powerful and dominating and being fucked is bad and immaculating and submissive.

If that sounds like I’m adding my own words and meaning to a simple phrase, think about what is actually being said when you say “you’re getting fucked by Microsoft.” What, you don’t want to get fucked? Why? Sex is supposed to be a positive thing two people can do together. Unless the one “getting fucked” doesn’t want to and now we’re not talking about fucking, we’re talking about using violent rape as an analogy for what a software company is doing to its userbase and that’s just…kind of fucked up. I shouldn’t have to explain why, right?

Anyway, no, I don’t get mad whenever I hear a phrase that stems from heteronormative ideas of sex. I don’t assume the person saying it is homophobic or an idiot, they probably just don’t know. But a friend once educated me on the subject, I thought about it, and I agree. So now I avoid using phrases like that, and when someone openly questions it like you have, cool, I’ll stop and talk about it.

It is literally the meaning behind the meme. There’s a silhouette of two men labeled “you” and “Microsoft” with the Microsoft man depicted as the top, the one doing the fucking, the one in the stereotypical position of power in the act. The message is, “Microsoft fucks you like this man fucks this other man in the ass.” I don’t have to spell this out, it’s what’s in the picture.

Macs are used in a lot of “creative” industries and professionals tend to benefit from multiple monitors. Every editor I’ve known cuts on a Mac with at least two monitors.

True, if they went to court and lost, every emulator project would likely be sued. But settling out of court also sets a precedent, or rather perpetuates the current status quo of crushing any vaguely gray area fan project with the threat of legal action. The shutdown of Yuzu will embolden Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony to be more aggressive about killing off these projects. Until someone does take one of these three to trial and wins, things are going to continue getting worse for game preservation.

Yes, absolutely. I’m sure experienced, qualified developers are clamoring to invest thousands of hours of work into a fork of a project hosted exclusively in a space only a fraction of a percent of the online world will ever access. I love the “fuck corpos” attitude from this community, I really do. But Yuzu development is dead. Super dead. Nintendo killed it and all the other emulator teams and game publishers are looking at it thinking about what’s next.

Now I’m thinking you don’t even need the USB adapter to connect to both your Android devices. The Android mode is probably just another X-Input Bluetooth channel.

I believe that D-Input will connect, but works on a per app basis for Android. So if your game or emulator doesn’t support it, it won’t work. I guess that’s true of X-Input, too, but that’s been the dominant controller API for many years. I could imagine some apps supporting X-Input controllers only.
