Cherry for me. Not fresh cherry, but artificial cherry flavour. Inthinknwe must have had cherry flavoured paracetamol or something similar as I vaguely remember a horrible syrup.
And now has trained more AI than anyone else.
Taps forehead.
I don’t use pocket any more but I tried it out. I think the benefit was that you had the sync of articles to read between all devices with pocket.
Personally, I use a browser for specific sites or searches. I use apps like Lemmy (connect) for content discovery pocket is a bridge between the two. It also allowed sharing between peopke. So rather than sharing a link by email or WhatsApp, I’d just add it to their pocket.
Many chemists and supermarkets have automated blood pressure check machines. Some are even free.
You do of course realise that despite the name, it is not a company?
When you rudely try to correct someone, but are inaccurate, you make yourself look like even dumber than what you complain about.
Yes, a licence fee approved by government and given to the BBC. Its not optional. Its a tax by another name with some arms length from the government to try to prevent conflict of interest. It does OK at that but not great.
However the point is that you can mix profitable endeavors successfully into a non profit to improve the non profit and fund the non profit parts. The problem is when the tail wags the dog.

The BBC is a respected broadcaster in the UK that shows no ads as it is government funded. They have investments abroad that have ads showing their programs, for profit to fund more programming. It doesn’t change their mission. In fact, some shows have cone from their for-profit division. You can have values and be for the people but still live on the real world.
I’m a dentist. You get surprisingly adept at removing and placing piercings in ears and noses. Often they need to be removed for xrays and lots of people don’t know how to do it for their own jewelry.
Lol, if you mean facebooks AI will skew more towards the views of American Facebook users, I’d say that’s a win for Europe. It will make the AI less valuable, creating a gap in the market for a better AI that can reflect European values or american or both.
AI does not need infinite data. They can easily licence that amount of content. They are just trying to do it cheaply with user content.
I gully expect use for AI training to become a standardized part of locencing for media and content going forwards. For a band or singer, or author, it may be they ibky get a small amoint for using their content but it won’t be stolen. There is minimal value in any one part of the content. There is value in the aggregate of lots of data.
Digitized books out of copyright have more archaic language but I expect we will see lots of media out of copyright being used also. Media organization that make movies, TV shows and publish newspapers and magazines also have a trove of content.
Also the rise of containerised software that is more easily cross platform for self hosting what would once have been cloud only.
It probably won’t move that many but little by little…
Yes and were in our 40s now. Those teenagers grew up, at least chronologically.
Same as the link trust they used to use as a signal for trust. Again it was about popularity.
Trust here does not mean trustworthy, but rather higher likelihood to be answer that is sought. Calling it trust or authority as just marketing.
I wonder if that’s why Reddit data was chosen. Upvotes could be used as a signal for trust. What they forget is jokes comments often get upvotes.
Back in the day, sometimes USA TV shows would not air overseas for months depending on the schedule. Often spoilers online would ruin some parts. Piracy solved this. Then they started doing same time release worldwide but you had to use buggy streaming services and the quality was poor. Then they tried selling shows for much more than their worth on a per episode basis. Piracy fixed all these problems. Netflix was a good, reasonable solution and then they all decided to dontheor own thing. Piracy it is then.
Its funny that even Netflix knew that the greed of others was their biggest risk as they planned to be streaming HBO before HBO and others caught up. Its a pity they didn’t emulate the quality.
Trust their motivation. They are worried that ai including LLM processing will be mainly on Linux and they’ll be left behind. They are just following where they think the money will be. It just happens to be good for Linux and consumer choice, but that’s a side effect, not the reason.
A lot gets used. A lot doesn’t. The technology is designed with trust in mind that it won’t be abused. It completely is. We should really be redesigning protocols to not be intrusive. A lot of information is given that is no longer needed to be functional.
They did. It ibky has weather so you allow location.
