Oh damn. Was coolroms part of that too? I’ve used emuparadise and coolroms a bunch over the years. Kinda makes me want to stock up just in case
"They’ve got me waiting on a day when we can say ‘fuck the police!’ with a little bit of integrity,
When it’ll mean: ‘I’ve got your back if you’ve got mine!’"

I’m OOTL, which ROM sites got shut down?
Nothing as profound as what you described there…
But…
The Last Of Us was an experience for me…
I hadn’t played a “new” game in about 8-10 years at that point, so the huge increase in development was mind blowing to me.
But really, the intensity of the story is what really did it for me. I legit got teary eyed in the intro, and then the burning restaurant scene made me ball my eyes out…
Phenomenal fucking game
Or, to bring it back to my youth… The Illusion of Gaia was probably the first game I played that made me feel things. That was so long ago, and I was so young when that came out that being specific about it is hard. But I think I really related with the main character, and I remember really feeling things during the lost-at-sea raft scene.
I might need to go find the ROM now…
**Or, to go a bit further back, Dragon Warrior.
That was the first game I ever played that really captivated me. It was the first RPG I ever played, and even tho the storyline is incredibly basic and cliche, it was the first time I experienced a story at all in a video game. It’s definitely the reason that I prefer fantasy RPGs over every other type of game
Thanks, I saw somewhere else that Mint was recommended for beginners too. I'll look into that
Billionaires should not exist.
You may want to ask this elsewhere
No worries.
The bot could be more detailed but isn’t wrong tho. Since the link you had posted is on your own instance, it would work normally for you and anyone else on yours. But for people on different instances, it doesn’t.
While the link you used works, it takes you out of your instance while on a browser, meaning you’re not logged in on that tab. If you use the link format that the bot posted, you remain logged in and can interact with the page, allowing you to vote, subscribe etc.
Also, just to throw this out there for anyone who isn’t aware; some fine folks have made a site where you can search for communities across all instances. Check it out!
There’s 2 smaller instances specifically for musicians. I would keep an eye on their communities.
lemmy.studio
waveform.social
Both have an Ableton /c, but not much content yet
Well, you’re in luck. There already are lemmy versions of those subs!
I’m no expert here, but so far the only way I’ve seen is to go to /instances from whatever server you inquiring about.
Such as, lemm.ee/instances
It’s cumbersome in that you have to scroll past a massive list of federated instances (across the whole fediverse, not just lemmy), but you’ll eventually get to the list of defederated instances at the bottom.
I’ve been curious myself tho, if there’s a way to directly see what/if any instances have defederated from yours.
Right on, thanks for the info!
