They’re already a monopoly
but they arent. there are plenty of other storefronts out there, albeit many being publisher owned. steam continues to succeed not because it has cornered the market like some monopolies, but because it is pro consumer and actually embraced by its target audience
depends who he passes ownership to. it could be a bunch of inheriters who have no interest in owning/running it and it will be forced to sell off to split shares out. or maybe he gifts it to a single person he sees as a successor. who knows, i dont know shit about his family so have no idea
there are at least a dozen of us
when in history did a law being unenforceable stop clueless politicians trying anyway?
the wonder can still exist. the pressure of adult life is so damn clouding though. what helps for me (and my wife) is solo travel, we have both found it to be one of the best things we ever decided to do. a week or so to yourself to completely forget all about work, home I have found to be extremely helpful. Do exactly what you want, take your time, and you can find beauty in the everyday things again. If its possible of course
yeah I was about 18 or 19 like you went in just expecting entertainment and couldn’t sleep that night afterwards
its actually quite a dark scene for a kids movie
for me, yes, when cycling. its a form of meditation to me and you can always back off if it gets too hard or exhausting. im working on my climbing now which is definitly challenging me but its also good for building that mental fortitude of ‘head down, just peddle dont think’. its done wonders for me mentally, as well as physically
must be the flames
I wouldn’t take that bet with a funnel Web spider.
that said the fear is way out of proportion to risk, yes many people are bit, but antidote is a thing. I think there’s only been a very small handful of actual spider bite deaths in Australia in decades and those that were were mainly untreated
either or! I don’t do vehicle stealths myself but it’s an equally acceptable part of the hobby. I personally like to camp under bridges, on abandoned structures and in the bushes on motorway interchanges. good fun
when you go shopping, push off with your trolley and pull yourself up to go for a little ride down an empty isle. 40m and I still do it
certainly inspired me :)
i believe in you! a lot of my gear isnt ‘stealthy’ either, part of the fun is making it work and good site selection
it can still be done but you might need some camo or something. highly recommend it!
stealth camping. basically camping where your not supposed to / normally wouldn’t want to, and have your presence remain unknown. it’s great fun and breathed new life into “the outdoors” for me
id actually love to see the breakdown of channels with content by subscriber count/youtube partnership status. I suspect a very large percentage will be non monetised. speaking from experience it either takes a shitload of work to get the ability to earn literally a few dollars or you somehow get lucky with a "viral" hit. even people in my niche the "big ones" make maybe a couple hundred bucks a year in ad revenue
