DeGoogle Yourself@lemmy.ml•Why I Dumped YouTube (and Why You Might Want to Too – No More Crap)English
4·4 months agoI stopped using youtube completely back when Trump was elected. I was never a big user anyway, I prefer reading. Its not something I grew up with so I don’t miss it. I got a used Pixel for GrapheneOS shortly after that. I got a Proton account a few years ago, and stopped using google search back in 2008, when I started using Linux and duckduckgo was the default search in Firefox. I think I’m pretty degoogled now. Hope Graphene can find an OEM supplier, having this Pixel gives me some strong dissonance. Its just a temporary fix, it was cheap tho.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•For GrapheneOS users, what is your profile setup like?English
1·4 months agoJust the one profile that comes with the install. I need a way to get Ticketmaster tickets in to a wallet tho, so I may need to set up another profile with Play Services and Google wallet, just for tickets. Either that or reset my old Samsung phone and download the tickets on to it, bring it with me to the concert. I have one year to figure it out, the concert is Dec 2026.

Vile Offspring: Derogatory term for the posthuman “weakly godlike intelligences” that inhabit the inner Solar System by the novel’s end.
Also Aineko
Aineko, is not a talking cat: it’s a vastly superintelligent AI, coolly calculating, that has worked out that human beings are more easily manipulated if they think they’re dealing with a furry toy. The cat body is a sock puppet wielded by an abusive monster.

In a change from the book and film, the television series had the city secretly run by a cabal of older citizens who promised Francis a life beyond the age of 30 as a city elder if he can capture the fugitives.

I switched to GrapheneOS which uses Vanadium browser by default, which doesn’t support any content blocking yet. I use ProtonVPN which seems to block everything.
