  • Been running OpenWRT for 16 years (okay some of those years was dd-wrt, and LEDE… But you get the point.)

Using them as dumb AP’s is what I really appreciate openwrt for… I can buy consumer grade hardware and get an actually stable experience as a WiFi AP. Not the typical “oh the WiFi is slow/stopped working? You have reboot it twice a month!” You get with the manufacturer’s shit software. I have a full opnsense box that handles firewall duties and vpn’s etc… So I really only like and need the stability of the hardware as an AP.

I also stock pile WiFi routers running OpenWRT and give them to friends that don’t have a lot of money when I help with tech upgrades, knowing the WiFi router will be rock solid and not cause any issues. They truly are ‘set it and forget it’ units.

  • Yah, been playing it on my steamdeck, I forgot how hard the first diablo was, haven’t played it since in was a kid. I got a warrior all the way to diablo, but couldn’t kill him, character wasn’t powerful enough. So i started a new game with my character and thought I’d train in nightmare, and come back to kill diablo in normal later. But then I read the game ends in each difficulty when you kill diablo and what ever loot you get, you can’t pick up before the ending dialogue screens, and diablo isn’t treated as much of a special character in regards to loot so… I never went back to kill diablo, because what’s the point?

Now I got all the way to level 13 in nightmare and stalled again because my character can’t survive the balrogs, and isn’t powerful enough. Usually when you got stuck in the original game, you could dupe gold or stat increasing potions or something to get your character past their slump, but they fixed the dupe bug in the devilutionx code. Now there’s nothing really to help you out when stuck. Crazy thing is sometimes you have to restart because you’ve run out of gold for healing potions after trying and failing to clear a level.

I might be putting the game down for a bit. It was incredibly fun while I played though.

  • Yup, they got me. Signed up for “price for life” fiber for $65/m, didn’t take a screenshot so i have no proof. 2 years later, nothing change contract wise, but now my bill is $85/m and I can’t fight it, again no proof. They were extremely careful to not have price for life branding on anything after you signed up, no email, no bill, no messages, nothing. Fuck Centurylink.

Now they’re trying to get me to switch to Quantum Fiber which apparently is still Centurylink, and the carrot or stick they’re using is the price for life rate at Quantum Fiber… Why would I trust a price for life promo when you reneged on the last price for life promo, in less than a year?

    Again, Fuck Centurylink.
