Yes, but the company can still be stretching itself too thin by having too many projects on at once.
I know it’s usually not as simple as throwing bodies at a project, but it feels like they could still do with more focus on their core products.

The results aren’t easy when they’re useless tho.
Particularly an issue when you’re googling an obscure software issue, you just get spammed with the same copy/paste “troubleshooting” steps. Which usually boil down to “reinstall this completely unrelated driver”.
I know it’s against what Lemmy wants, but this is what you actually need for a privacy focused service to become mainstream.
Normal people don’t spend all day looking for and setting up miscellaneous FOSS products to do what they need.
They want to pax $X per month to have it all in one place and easy to use.
It’s just a bit too expensive imo.
“Finally” really is the key word, waiting for Proton to add features or apps is painful at times.

I don’t know how much I even want from a phone these days. Just seems like things have stagnated in the mobile market for the past few years.
I honestly don’t know what I enjoy more about my current phone compared to the one I had 10 years ago.
They can be used for communication, payments, maps, music, YT and browsing the web. I think I’ll just get a small, cheap phone next time, as it’ll still check all those boxes.
Maybe I’m talking out my ass, but it seems to be something devs like because it makes their life easier.
Flatpak/snaps are always a hard miss for me as a user, unless there’s no other option.
Not surprised, I was fed up with the cost so setup a new account with a Nigerian VPN, only a few pound per month with that method.
Might switch back to a UK account if they make the price more reasonable here.
I’d be surprised if you actually saw anything change from security updates tbh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything break from a quick patch.
Dist upgrades are when things might break, but they’re only once every few years. Leave them too long though and you may end up with compatibility issues if you need to make changes.
Fair enough if you’re not getting paid enough, the company should hire more people to stay on top of that though.

The last bit that might hold me back is getting my Hue Sync stuff working. It sounds silly, but it really makes games feel so much more immersive that I don’t want to be without it.

All I know is that people were saying games run great on Linux a couple of years ago as well, but when I actually tried it for myself the performance was unusable.
Maybe that was my fault for over complicating my setup, but even when I tried a basic setup it still felt very janky.
