i don’t know about who builds what part used in players atm, i guess if the demand is going up there will be some “audiophile” company delivering better quality products again, just like it happened with turntables. until then, i’ll continue to use my 30+yo gear ;)

the market is still there, just not in the west, to whom they aim their products. and even here there is a small revival of the format with labels like neoncity records releasing VERY great looking tapes with some quality music on them. i know, it’s a niche, but the vinyl revival started in a similar way. i’m glad i restored my father in laws high end aiwa cassette deck a few years ago.

i was on twitter from 2008 onwards and always opposed the dorsey way of running the platform but at least i knew what i was dealing with. personally, i don’t care about musk but the announcement of him and his wef-mistress to turn twitter into some kind of westernized wechat made me leave the platform for good.

it’s funny how the “when we were kids, whe didn’t even had a tv at home and we were happy”-routine from our grandparents moved up to “we watched the same episode on vhs on repeat!” now millennials are getting older.

basically like one of those 80s “laptops” that came as a box with a flip-out display and a keyboard attached. of course more modern: bigger, better screens for working on a graphical interface, wireless peripherals, maybe flatter, like a pizzabox. the ups to a traditional laptop would be better cooling and room fur upgrades. many people have laptops and they sit on a desk forever, maybe moved once a month.
