Thanks, that was interesting!
But I wonder, if you accidentally put it in the wrong community. Or other way round: how is this related to open source?
(Or does my client show me some wrong information?)

I’m not sure, if I can follow
Aren’t the dependencies for the app (hopefully - as it’s the same code) completely the same, no matter how I install it?
With GitHub (apk releases) the only difference would be, that you’ll need to keep an eye on updates yourself
Or do I miss something here?
Hehe
I’m using yay, because it was “the new thing”, when I switched to Arch (and Arch-based systems)
But after that I’ve stopped comparing
Is there anything new, that is actually worth switching from yay?
Hm… Strange
I was very much of the opinion that I had the option, when I bought the laptop, but (at least on mobile) I can’t see it now.
Because I remember, that I was so happy to be able to choose CoreBoot
But checking my BIOS, it’s from insyde
And I’ve no idea what exactly those guys are and what they build up on - or if it’s a completely other UEFI BIOS
That’s a bit of a bummer now, actually
Edit: or maybe I’m mixing it up with the StarLabs StarFighter order, I had to cancel.
That would make at least sense, and my memory is just scrambled, but not completely creating fictional stuff ;-)
I’m having a Framework 16 and chose during ordering to set it up with coreboot
Not sure about libreBoot, and haven’t really looked much into coreboot as well, to be honest, but everything seems to work and I’m happy
With a HDMI-CEC Adapter it could be, that you can even use your TV remote to control your PC/Kodi
Not sure if your TV supports it - as I’m not much of a TV guy and don’t know, if you need any higher standard for that
But I’m quite happy with an old laptop + Kodi, linked up to my TV. Works quite well.
Only have to go through some audio settings for modern movies, where the sound mixing is usually not nice for dialogues…
Important long term storage in short video clips?
I waited ages for their StarFighter laptop and needed to finally cancel, as my old laptop was dying.
But I’m pretty happy now with a Framework 16.
I guess Framework also provides quite long support, as re-using stuff is their thing, but I don’t really have looked into it
I’m always making big plans on my business trips about all the stuff I’ll do, when I’m back home
Back home I usually just crash for 2-5 days and can’t do much anyway - and then work starts again to stress enough, because of all the postponing, to get me up again
Not really a fun cycle…
I still think Twitter was just a fuck up on his side
Else it would be A+ psyop role playing and looking at all those bright minds, I don’t see a possibility for them acting accordingly to a sinister plan.
I just want to make clear, that I don’t think it’s some kind of dark deep state issue, but much more a systematic issue, caused by Imperial capitalism - not saying you implied it, I just wanted to clarify
At that point, why still bother with Ubuntu?
Ah yeah, did that during business trips.
There are also some laptop remote control apps in the store
Not sure what is hip and secure currently, years ago I used unified remote, which worked quite well.
Or did you find a better solution and use a real remote with USB receiver?
Also perfect for my back pain. Everything relaxes after an hour in a hot bath.
I even put in dimmable multi colour light in my bathroom and some nice background music.
Sadly the LED strip broke quite soon…
That’s how it should work:
https://trash-guides.info/Sonarr/Tips/How-to-setup-language-custom-formats/
But somehow I can’t get it to work correctly.
Maybe I’ll just try again and check if I missed something
Thanks, that makes sense
But also newly added/searched stuff only appears in English
Not sure, if they really are only available in English or if I did something wrong…
Because you can’t easily borrow it your friend or bring it with you to a game night?
I’m also happily running Manjaro on my new Framework 16.
Even the fingerprint sensor works fine - although I’ll still need to tune LightDM a bit, so I don’t have to press enter.
Do you have any tips what you have done further or any resources?
At first the WiFi wasn’t working and is still a bit unstable - like isn’t available as interface after booting and I need to toggle flight mode.
But it seems a newer kernel (6.10.6-10) mostly fixed it.
Also sometimes coreboot seems to take some time. But only every 10 boots or something.
I have the exact other problem
I would like to search for 2 languages (one preferred), but and can’t work it out…
If you find a solution to your problem somewhere, please give the link/info as well, maybe it helps me…
I tried the trash guides ( https://trash-guides.info/ ), but it seems I’ve done something wrong. Maybe it helps you
This was the guide with the custom language:
