This all depends if people feel harassed via social media, texts, photos, etc. Its a matter of perspective, for people who have mainly experienced social interaction through social media, then yes the harassment feeling is much higher.

I think it turned a lot of women into players too, because they had incredible control moreso than every before. I remember hearing something about women who go on dates just to eat… lolol
thats because men dating men in general is a completely different culture than women dating men or vice versa. A lot of women like to take it slow and are very cautious, but a lot of men are very direct and want instant gratification and are impatient. That’s why an app was so exponential for this type of instant cavaliering gratification culture. This is the stereotype, I know not all gay men are like this…
I was attempted to be scammed by a catfish or a prostitute on facebook. I kind of felt good for a moment…? Honestly, I dont really trust views and likes enough to connect this with psychological internal validation.
thats because its not a dating app at its core, its a make the company money app, you might get a date, but thats not their purpose. This isn’t a all capitalism is bad comment, I"m just pointing out the obvious. I dont go into the world not thinking I"m not trying to be manipulated. I understand some people are naive though, even perhaps college students in their “safe” spaces.
I immediately thought of grindr when reading your comment, but I can understand that most apps may lead to hypersexualiztion, depending on which pose the person in the photograph is doing and/or the person’s dutty dutty mind.
absolutely, the only draw for content creators is the money they can make on youtube, which means people intersted in making money are more likely to use it and their content is obviously biased towards profit building. Any other platform can easily recreate a sane profit sharing program for creators, eventually it might become youtube, but in the meantime we can all enjoy it.
does this affect the ip range blockers. I thought about getting one of those, but youtube will probably find a way to cook ads into regular content, but we have AI now…
woudl be great if someone would conduct a proper survey in certain areas and populations that survey peopel who have actually “hooked up” via hook up apps so we can finally set the record straight
