I thought I would never have to see BSOD after switching to linux, but here we go…
[ tbh, I love that errors are presented much better, just that the name doesn’t bring back much good memories.

Glad that there are govt. level systems who make use of Linux (mostly ubuntu ) systems here. For eg. , in kerala, all govt schools and colleges use linux for computer labs and academic activities, i guess the local body administration too use ubuntu.
Only wish we could convince those private sector schools of the money they’ll save converting those slow windows systems to linux.
How are you still using that old os ? Also how does it perform ? do the modern web run in it ?
I don't know about graphene, but doesn't some android roms allow to use custom ( more private Webview implementations) instead of default ?
Doesn’t Tor on Tails come with ublock origin ? I don’t get why Tor doesn’t come with it preinstalled too
Usually that is the case. normally gnome stays in the testing repo for a few months. Gives enough time for extension managers to update extensions, and thus, us not having heavily broken workflows. It mostly will only be out as stable only after the gnome 45.1 release.
Love the fact that it Feels a lot like Rarbg •ᴗ•
It usually depends on the model. When i tried nous-hermes model, it used approximate ~5GB extra RAM. I use a system with 16GB ram.
Whatever the devs can do now is only provide a local only solution if possible, because there is no support for it in serverside. So whatever u save, they will not be synced.
There is an open issue ticket in lemmy’s main github repo and are actually happening quite lot of conversations on how to implement it
I can see them in inbox, and in case of notifications, they only appear when the client is in foreground.
I can see replies to my comments and posts in infinity. The main issue is now that private messages aren’t implemented. Depending on the speed of developement, it will soon land
On android, i wish Xplore file manager had an alternative. Didn’t find anything to replace it. Dualpane file managers are the best. (btw, its one of the app where donating to dev really feels like he deserves it ).
Yeah. Without ublock origin, that site is practically unusable.
If you want a completely offline (local) one, you can take a look at gpt4all
Used nostr without much idea about itself, but using Amethyst, it was the easiest i ever created account ever in my life
The working involves relays ( which reminded me of tor ) which helps messages pass from you to others and from them to you.
Discovering accounts can be through their public key or as usual, their username ( if set ). Its usable with just the key generated during our signup.
The downside is not much active communities and users other than mainly crypto enthusiasts, but people are increasing.
For PC’s the whisper can be now run on many common laptops and desktops ( with almost good accuracy ) , thanks to projects like whisper.cpp and faster-whisper.
There also happens a lot of model’s getting released by meta like wav2vec2 and MMS ( not seen using anywhere though )
I guess there are many python packages for aforementioned projects too.
