Rockstar have already mentioned that they are working to get the game working on Steam Deck, and by extension Linux in general.
Shouldn’t be too hard since BattlEye is supposed to be compatible and there’s a BattlEye Proton runtime.

I’ve been using a Pinecil which is USB-C powered. It heats up in seconds and the temp can be adjusted easily. The big plus to me is how small it is. It’s so much easier to handle than a standard iron, and the tips are push-in and can be locked with a screw so they’re easy to swap.
IIRC Doom didn’t have a skybox per se, just parallax ceiling textures. You could put that texture on floors or ceilings and it would show the sky texture that would not be attached to the walls.
There are exclusions to copyrights accepted under fair use which could easily be tightened if major copyright holders (like Disney) have their way.
It does. If the AI firms lose, the laws around copyrights tighten and major copyright holders profit. If they win, they get to do what they please and nobody can stop them. Either way, the public loses.
I was talking about Appx. I haven’t used Windows in a while, but that was how I got rid of Cortana. The key part was the read-only file named after the folder that couldn’t be replaced.
Windows does have its own command-line package manager. I don’t know if it can remove Recall, but last I checked it could remove Cortana. It would just get reinstalled soon after, but that could be prevented with some file-naming trickery. If you give a file the same name as the folder used to have and make it read-only, it couldn’t remake the folder and wouldn’t reinstall.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you can still do that now.
The 3d gloop mentioned in the video is a solvent that’s used for welding PLA. You could definitely use that to properly seal it. And being built from blocks like in the video (which is due to a limitation of the size of a 3d printer) means that any leak would probably be limited to a single block at a time and probably not catastrophic.
Her videos used to be mostly about 3D printing Iron Man suits, but she found a (likely more profitable) niche doing sillier things with 3d printers and her engineering knowledge.
uBlock Origin and similar ad blockers stop YouTube ads. Occasionally YouTube changes something and ads sneak through until someone updates the filters.
Now that Chrome has essentially neutered its ad blockers, the only option for many people is Firefox on desktop and mobile, which still has a working version of uBO.
Ignorance is not stupidity.
Despite this being reported on tech news, most people won’t even be aware that it’s a thing because most people won’t actually read about it. And the majority of gamers probably don’t even know what a kernel is or why an anti-cheat with elevated privileges would be a bad thing.
Most people buy their computers with Windows preinstalled and probably couldn’t tell you if the CPU is Intel or AMD.
It’s ok to use google as a verb. Using the word that way is how it becomes generic, which is something Google would really hate. Not that it’s gonna happen anytime soon, but we can always try.
The issue is that customs agents have the authority to refuse you entry into the country for no reason if they so choose. Refuse to consent to a search and you could be refused entry. This includes simply transiting through the airport, as the US requires foreigners to go through customs even for connecting flights (I’m not sure if that’s always the case, but it has always been the case for me.) So they can’t force you to let them search your phone, but the end result is the essentially the same.
Out of principle, if I can’t block or skip an ad, I’m closing the window. I’d rather not use the service than be force-fed advertising.
I take public transit on the daily, and that’s just about the only place I can’t avoid advertising.
If you can afford it, sure. If it’s money that should be spent elsewhere, you might want to rethink it.
Surely in 30 billion years nothing could possibly happen to the supercooled strontium to throw that off, right?
It’s not easy committing to the change when you have no knowledge of the platform. The status quo is always easier until it no longer is.
Having seen how different Linux is from what it was 20 years ago, it’s way more approachable than it used to be. Most people could adjust pretty quickly, but with so much of the technical bits hidden from sight, the average PC user these days isn’t as tech savvy as they were many years ago, and making the switch can be intimidating.
Tying and/or being tied up in itself has nothing to do with pain.
Rockstar has apparently bought FiveM.
